Good morning

These pictures were from Sunday night. It was about high time for me to count her toes.........

kitchen floor!!!!!!!!

The floor is finished! It feels really strange in there now. I was so used to the gray tile..........now all we have to do is put trim around the flooring and some touch up paint and the drawer/cabinet door pulls. whew. It's downhill from here.

Mary Janes

This picture always makes me smile. It was Sunday School girls one morning in class. Being the same can be fun!

Rabbit Hutch Store

I have an online store and Olivia just fixed it up for me. It's been closed for a while because of graduations, trips, vacations, grandkids visiting, a new grand-daughter and IKE, but all of those things are over now. I'm sure nothing else will ever happen again, because it all JUST happened in the past 6 months. www.therabbithutchstore.blogspot.com

writing

In the Hundred Acre Wood and elsewhere, those who know how to write a proper letter are much respected and in great demand.

just a few more things

this yellow and white striped curtain covers the popcorn shelf, the coffee shelf, and an almost empty top shelf yes, I see that a drawer is still white........and yes, we are going to put the flooring in soon.........but here's my new curtain! I've always wanted curtains instead of doors.... we need the drawer pulls.........to touch up paint and the flooring........and then we'll be finished! I have been doing lots of cooking lately and it is a BREEZE to be in the kitchen. It is such a blessing to have everything just so........if a cool front comes in tomorrow, or if the air turns dry and we turn off the a.c., I am making brownies.

working

~~~~~~~from Farmer's Almanac: Human Character Don't try to live without labor. If necessity does not quicken the energies, keep to work as a matter of principle, for activity, mental and physical, is essential to the perfect development of human character.~~~~~~~~~~~~ So here we have two chairs. They need glue, they need paint, they need some adjusting. Why do I do this to myself? Why do I have to lug these projects home? Why? Because I love to be doing things. As of today, I figure there are enough things in my own home and yard to keep me busy for a good year. I could sew all of my fabric into quilts, aprons, dresses, jumpers, cloth napkins, Mum-Bunnies, curtains. I could crochet all of my yarn into a rug while watching Roy Rogers. I could make doilies until the cows came home. I could RE-clean all of the ceiling fans. I could perfect all of the gardens as they are all crying for attention right now. I could write my book that only has a title and a bag of though...
Happy Day
I hope you all have a great Sunday! Happy Day Happy Day Since Jesus Washed My Sins Away
Hi Grandma Kim
Today she is a lima bean. Tomorrow? who knows.
For Grandma Kim
Hi Grandma! See my pretty hair?
hooray!!!!!!!!!!!
yay! There must have been a hedge about our home in our little windblown town! James and Daniel went this morning to see the damage, and there was none! no water no trees in the roof no parts of the house missing the cat was still there one of them at least.......we hardly ever know where Cougar is the bird was fine the electricity appeared to not have been out at all M y Aunt Nancy and Uncle Gary are taking fine care of all of us. It has been a nice time to visit and talk about 'when we were young'. I just talked with Heather........I do wish I could see our new little granddaughter...............they say she is so little. sigh. We are fine. All of our church people are fine. We are also very thankful to the Lord for the protection of our homes. Thanks to all of you that followed the storm with us and prayed for us.
take a hike, ike
We're somewhere south of Lufkin.........that's as far as we could make it last night. I was reported by one of my own children to the head of the convoy we were in. I guess I was swerving...... We're on our way to my Aunt's home to wait out the storm. So much for starting school. So much for a lot of things. I guess we'll just watch the Weather Channel to find out how the rest of our year will be spent. I need to practice what I've been preaching..........keep your mind and thoughts on good things. Things that edify. Instead of Timbuktu or Smithereens. That's where things get blown to. Timbuktu and Smithereen thoughts, do not edify. So, today is 9/11. Looks like it will be the birthday of our 5th grandchild. We were in the lobby eating breakfast and the news showed some clips from 7 years ago..........a man was sitting with a picture of a woman, probably his wife. All he has now is a picture. I'm not so bad off. I have pictures AND my family....
Kimberly's school books.......
We're starting school on Monday. And yes, I kinda waited till the last minute to get their books ready. But they are ready. So we will start on Monday. these are not in the same order as what you see in the picture........ Saxon Math.......these books have saved my life more than once. Foxe's Christian book of Martyers.........I think we have read this book in family devotions, but it won't hurt to read it again. Romance of the Civil War.........looks like kind of a different history book to me. Timely Talks With Teenagers..........a conservative book from the Amish. Sweet Land of Liberty.......a history book Food Tips and Cooking Tricks.......this is a neato book......learn more about cooking and little tricks.......I love little trick books. Actually, this is not a little book. Kimberly will read each section/chapter and write down things that are worth remembering. Everything is not. The White House......this isn't a very personal book, but it is history. Ki...
pillowcase.........
This has got to be one of the prettiest pillowcases I have ever seen. I got it this morning at my favorite thrift store. I washed it, hung it up on the line to dry......and it is so soft.......but too old to be used on a pillow. Too bad. It makes me think of my mom and the things I grew up with.
inspiration
I have been cutting and tearing out magazine pictures for around 3 years.........if I saw something that I liked and I owned the magazine, I would tuck it away in a folder......and hoped it would some day turn in to 'my' kitchen. Well, it did. The left picture was the color I liked, the bottom middle is like our sink.......above that picture are open shelves........which we have. The picture to the right gave me the thoughts to do something a little different......everything in a kitchen doesn't have to be the same color? Does it?
Good Morning
To my millions of readers, I hope you have a great day today and get lots done.
the picture didn't come up with my last blog
so here it is.
taking notes
I write things down as I think of them.....things that need to be done......kinda like a grocery list, except this is more 'get stuff done' oriented. If I have it written down to where I won't forget it, then I can go on to other things when they come up. Like they always do. Our house has been turned upsidedown for almost 6 weeks. Yes, it was worth it, but now I have no excuse to get things cleaned up and in order. These are the things I need to get done before Saturday evening: laundry......well duh. I don't even know why I wrote that on the list........it is like micromanaging your life to write down laundry. whatamigonna do? forget to do it or something? ceiling fans.......all of the fans need a damp rag and attention, I'm not looking forward to this job because the stuff gets in your eyes and hair whilst cleaning. why?why?why? don't I keep them dusted often, then it wouldn't get caked on? desk........avalanche, glacier, snowballed, snowed unde...
spoons and stuff
I had a neat little thing left over from the ORANGE kitchen that I wanted to use. James put it right above his coffee maker. I love measuring spoons.....plastic, coppery and silver.
our flowers
And no, I don't have gardens full of flowers.........I have just a few that have survived my NON-attention, drought, and then flooding rains. We save all of our pretty perfume bottles. They make perfect vases. James made this lovely windowsill for me.....(I almost didn't get one).......we couldn't wait to use these vases!
We put EVERYTHING up!
Our glass, our baking pans, our muffin tins, my hand mixer and strainers! Olivia decorated the top of the cabinet for me! This is a pretty tray my sister gave me........I also have some salt and pepper shakers I just can't shake.
