For Kimberly Burkhart

Kimberly, I was reading something this morning and came across a fact you might want to know.   Photic Sneeze Reflex is a trait characterized by involuntary sneezing after an individual is exposed to bright light after adapting to the dark. This trait is believed to be inherited, but identification of the specific genes involved has not been made yet. Photic sneeze reflex occurs in about 10 percent of people. The photic sneeze reflex (also known as photoptarmosis, colloquially known as "sun sneezing") is a condition of uncontrollable sneezing in response to numerous stimuli, such as looking at bright lights or periocular (surrounding the eyeball) injection. The condition affects 18–35% of the population, but its exact mechanism of action is not well understood. So now, we know the term.  This is what you have.  The book I read it in says this is inherited.  Let's try not to lay blame on anybody here.  It could be lots of people you go...

Kim's Day

Kim got a surprise this morning....I planned a party at the beach for her.  It turned out great and she was surprised. Of course we went to Buc-ees first. Presents from a friend. Just having fun in the sun!! Kimberly's idea of sunscreen. It probably wasn't the 'best' day to be at the beach. School starts Monday and everybody was acting like it  was 'their' birthday....at the beach today. I was glad it didn't rain, I am thankful for our van that keeps making it over the bridge, I am thankful for my kids, and am glad for the people persons that came to the 'party' and made it fun.  Don't anybody tell Jehu OR Bunny why they got plunked in their kennels all afternoon. Happy Birthday to YOu KIM

Dancing Apron

Kimberly found this fabric yesterday at our favorite thrift store..........I made her an apron last night. It has been dubbed the 'Dancing Apron'.

So we will start on Monday. these are not in the same order as what you see in the picture........ Saxon Math.......these books have saved my life more than once. Foxe's Christian book of Martyers.........I think we have read this book in family devotions, but it won't hurt to read it again. Romance of the Civil War.........looks like kind of a different history book to me. Timely Talks With Teenagers..........a conservative book from the Amish. Sweet Land of Liberty.......a history book Food Tips and Cooking Tricks.......this is a neato book......learn more about cooking and little tricks.......I love little trick books. Actually, this is not a little book. Kimberly will read each section/chapter and write down things that are worth remembering. Everything is not. The White House......this isn't a very personal book, but it is history. Ki...

5 Littles

This was before Lydia...........we took a school outing one day to different places in Freeport. The girl with the hat can now play Fur Elise on the piano with her eyes closed. The girl in pink has three kids, two of them being twins. She keeps her home neat and tidy. The girl in the blue t-shirt writes articles for popular Christian women web sites. She also makes cheese cakes that weigh 8 pounds. The boy in the white top finished a model of the Titanic for a friend........and now has a display in our library of all the Titanic things he has collected. He LOVES his riding lawn-mower. The kid in orange is buying a house on 1st street here in our little town. He leads singing at our church and teaches the boys upstairs on Sunday mornings. He also has quite a collection of ties. We enjoyed our little kids, but big kids are great, too.!!!!
