A Time For Change

THE WEATHER IS ALWAYS CHANGING I'M GLAD FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR ENJOY IT WHERE YOU ARE Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet. ~Roger Miller My favorite weather is bird-chirping weather. ~Loire Hartwould Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine. ~Anthony J. D'Angelo There's one good thing about snow, it makes your lawn look as nice as your neighbor's. ~Clyde Moore Don't knock the weather; nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while. ~Kin Hubbard Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. ~Albert Camus "Listen! the wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves, We have had our summer evenings, now for October eves!" - Humbert Wolfe "The milkweed pods are breaking, And the bits of silken down Float off upon the autumn breeze Across the meadows brown." - Cecil Cavendish, The Milkweed

just in case.

I hardly ever have comment moderation in place.......but since we will be gone for a while, I'd hate for some thoughtless person leave an ugly comment that I didn't get to right away. I'll undo it when we get back. from Colorado. !!

quotes

Flowers are restful to look at. They have neither emotions nor conflicts. Earth laughs in flowers. I love Spring anywhere, but if I could choose, I would always greet it in a garden. Ruth Stout One of the worst mistakes you can make as a gardener is to think you're in charge. Die when I may, I want it said of me by those who knew me best, that I always plucked a thistle and planted a flower where I thought a flower would grow. Abraham Lincoln If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere. The butterfly is a flying flower, The flower is a tethered butterfly. Blossom by blossom the spring begins....... The tiniest garden is often the loveliest. Gardeners, I think, dream bigger dreams than emperors. I have never had so many good ideas, day after day, as when I worked in the garden. What a pity flowers can utter no sound. A singing rose, a whispering violet, a murmuring honeysuckle--oh, what a rare and exquisite miracle would these be. Anyone

A Legal Blog

I know it is fixing to be winter for some of you........but around here, we can have flowers all seasons if we plant and plan right. I do enjoy the flowers year round where I live.......I also enjoy cool fronts, but that is another post.........so this blog is legal because of where I live. We have flowers instead of snow. It is fun to see which flowers will make it through the winter? season. I never know what is going to grow and bloom........!! This red flower is always a surprise. They are random because that is how they were planted. This is where Zephyr hides. She probably wouldn't want me to tell you all that....but she's in there all the time so dogs and other cats won't see her. It's always a nice surprise too, to get a white? flower. These Shamrock plants are in the garden by the doorway. I did some changing around of that spot in late Spring. I hope they continue to thrive. They are from my Great Grandma's garden that live

Where are You?

There is a process that can happen in our life.  It is not upward but downward. You might be somewhere in this progression and don't know how you got there. EXPECTATIONS DISAPPOINTMENT DISCOURAGEMENT UNBELIEF DISOBEDIENCE We all have expectations.  If you start counting them, you won't be able to go to bed tonight.  In fact, you might not be able to go to bed for a week or two if you try to think of everything you expect in your life.   can openers, computers, pets, cars, emergency rooms, gardens, friends, Taco Bell, banks, thrift stores, books, seasons, ball games, cameras, jobs, family, marriage, bosses, tires, heaters, pens, neighbors, doctors, vacations, church services, birthdays................ Be careful of your expectations for they drive your life. If we live life just waiting for all of these things to fall into place and be perfect, we are living way too close to the edge. Life is very unpredictable so it we are very subject to disappointment. Thin

pretty rain............

It was such a pretty rain........I love to hear it splashing and pitter-pattering on my old pans and pitchers.

time for tea

I must further advise you Harriet, not to heap such mountains of sugar in your tea, nor to pour such a deluge of cream into it. People will certainly take you for the daughter of a dairymaid! To Think of Tea Agnes Repplier 1932

Autumn is coming........

(if you already need a quilt at night where you live.......you can say so.......I can take it)

The Tinkerbell effect describes those things that exist only because people believe in them. .........not that I admire Tinkerbell or anything she does ................. it could pertain to my vision of a perfect puppy it's not good to be out of touch with reality now, is it?

for catie! I kinda changed the sign up.........

Here is a fun recipe for breakfast......I have made it for lots of people, you can adjust it for your own family........ 8 cans of biscuits the cheap ones from Wal-mart worked well 2 sticks of margarine brown sugar pkg. of butterscotch pudding mix whole package of cream cheese powdered sugar mix the cream cheese and powdered sugar together in a bowl smash the biscuits so they're big and flat put some of the cream cheese mixture in the middle fold them up so they don't ooze put them in a big pan that you melted the margarine in sprinkle them with brown sugar and the DRY butterscotch pudding mix you can turn the loaded biscuits over so they get covered with everything move them gently you don't want them to ooze these are some kind of YUMMY. Yesterday I found 24 pieces of sea glass on the beach. I have never seen so much of it since I started the collection. My little glass jar is filled to the top. also........the bus barn said YES! W

Lemons

When I think of a lemon, I think of many things. I think of how special lemonade used to be. Now we drink it by the gallons and don't think a thing of it. Just run to the store and buy a big old lemon. Easy. But I don't think it used to be so easy. Just ask Pollyanna and Anne of Green Gables. And Laura Ingalls. And just to think, sometimes it even had ice in it. We don't appreciate ice any more than we do lemons. Do YOU remember the first time you heard this? When life gives you lemons, make lemonade? I was in high school in an art class. I thought it was corny then, and I still do. Sorry......... I also think of pirates. Pirates? Yes. Just think, if pirates, a long time ago, had lemons like they needed them, the world would be ran by pirates today. All those long sea voyages caused so many pirates to weaken and they could not fight like strong men could. Their lack of vitamin C brought on their demise. So, lack of lemons has probably saved the world from pirat
