Lydia

This has got to be one of my most favorite pictures. It is Lydia at Brazos Bend. I kept the dress.

Foam Rollers

I loved having girls. All four of our girls had wonderful hair. I braided, rolled, pony-tailed, curled, used barrettes, flowers, hot rollers, curling irons, clips, topsy curl, bobby pins.... and maybe some other things I don't recall.... in their hair. I loved every minute of it. As soon as Sara's hair was long enough to  do something with.... I DID. I'm still at it almost 30 years later. Thankfully, there are still heads of hair that I can fix. Little girls at church,  grand-daughters, and the two heads left at home. *sigh* Can *YOU* sleep in foam rollers?
Lydia has Fast Braces appointments in Sugarland, Texas 7-9 weeks apart.  I missed the last one, but took full advantage of this one!  We met with friends and the girls got to go skating....we ate pizza....then had the appointment. It felt SO good to be in the *rink* area, it was pleasantly COLD.  Did you skate as a child?  On the sidewalk? At a rink? In your frozen back yard?  I never learned how to skate....I'm amazed at anybunny that can......

Lydia

I was just looking at pictures today....and I realized I have lots of Lydia.  It's because she came along about the same time digital cameras did.  Seems like she was always doing something worthy of a picture.  I imagine the other 5 kids were picture worthy, too.........but it cost more.  A long time ago, you took ONE picture.  Now we can take 10 of the same thing, look them over and delete the 8 that weren't good.  I remember buying film, putting it in my 110 camera......taking pictures very carefully.  Then, I'd take the film out and put it in a film mailer to Clark or somewhere else.   Sometimes you'd wait 2plus weeks for the pictures to come back.  You took the good with the bad.  You'd think that with all that trouble, we would have taken more time to FOCUS.  It was too expensive to take them to a drug-store to have them developed.  But, right before digital cameras got popular, (underst...

A Favorite Author

http://raindropsonroses96.blogspot.com/2011/02/in-memory-of.html I started reading his books years and years ago.  2 out of 6 of my kids loved him, too. You will find them in the Science Fiction part of book stores and libraries....but it is NOT weird stuff. http://rabbittrails59.blogspot.com/2007/03/redwall-feast.html

school

Bunny might think she's a cat sometimes..... Here are some of Lydia's books. I will use a book from the 1930's if I can find a good one! Like the Bible study book. Truth is Truth, right? The DOG book is for art....Lydia is going to sketch dogs. Body By Design is going to be an EXCELLENT book. We started school today.  It was a really quiet morning. I was remembering back to the day when FOUR kids would start school and there were two littles NOT in school. That made for lots of noise. Happy noise. But it was really quiet for this first day. I got the books ready. Lydia got up. Went to the table and did her work. Then she was done. And that was the first day. The last time I had one kid in school.....Sara was in first grade. For years and years I've had kids in every corner of the house.... either doing school, avoiding it, or wishing they could DO school. I have always been a 'better late than never' type of teacher. Why start a kid in school when they...

Learning to Ice Skate

Lydia did VERY well for her first time. This would be a FUN place to go in July.......when it's hot outside and you need a cool breeze......but no, we were there the coldest day of the year so far. Next time I WILL bring my thermos of coffee. Decaff or not.....it just must be hot.

Happy Birthday Lydia

Lydia had this up on Picasa when I came in to the computer. It made me smile.

nobody knows.........

these pictures were lost for a couple of days picasa changed some things up and I haven't adjusted yet, so a couple of times, I have downloaded pictures and before the final click, I erase them right off the computer...and if that isn't enough, I say YES to clearing the memory card. I got quite upset the other day when I realized I had done it again. It was troubling to say the least. But Olivia, and the help of some friends, got them back for me. So you CAN wipe your memory card clean and those pictures are still floating around somewhere, out there. The pictures that were lost, but now are found, were pictures I took on our trip to Mississippi. thanks Olivia.
