Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my Dear Husband 29 years 29 short years I'm glad I'm yours.

After dinner on Friday night

I told him to smile like the shark, this is what I got.

TIMBERRRRRRRRR

(this particular tree branch stayed here for quite a while, this is where the chain saw gave out) When we moved here, the enclosed area by the bathroom windows was solid grass. Well, I fixed that. I have planted, pulled, dug, raked, picked, bricked, decorated, unbricked, drug, seeded and watered this area for years and years, and it just mainly did what it wanted. This was what it wanted: airplane plant, ice plant, sorry charlie (weed-ground cover), shamrocks, fern, shrimp plant and hardy iris bulbs that hardly ever bloomed. I've had three trees come up on their own in this section too. One was a mulberry tree. I trimmed that tree often.......one switch at a time. Then came an ash tree. It came up and grew really tall in just a few years. It dropped sooty mold on all of my flowers (?ha), so we cut it down. Then this tree grew. I kind of like it at first, then came to not like it at all. It has little yellow fuzzy things that drop yellow everywhere, then it would dr...

the BIG bar

I have never seen anybody doing Formica. I only see the finished product. It was pretty neat to see all the steps. I must admit I missed them cutting the top......but I did see them paint the glue on the board. Ugh. This is nerve wracking to me........I would never build tall buildings, put more than ONE car on a trailer to transport them from city to city, I'd never make tall slipper slides or 6 foot deep swimming pools, and I HATE people wedging things in doors, dragging things around and moving things that are too big to be moved. This is on the kitchen side...........we don't want to just paint it, but nobody in the family wants anything weird either.........so we're going to think on it for a while. I already know what I would do......I'd get some thin sheet tin.......cover it just like you would tin foil on a cookie sheet, and screw it on. I think it would look neat, and boy would it ever take the wear and tear! I imagine we will get some kind of wall...

food cabinet

fixing fixing all of the sudden, our kitchen felt much smaller........and we've been sitting at the end of the countertop you see here, to eat.....it was a nice little place we were going to paint this one purple also, but we're going to go with green can you believe it?

We got a pretty sleeve for our stovepipe. The way the kitchen was before, the stovepipe was hidden. Now it will be seen, so we painted it and got it a new sleeve.
