Zoo Day

It was already hot. One parking lot was already full. But I had on my good walking shoes,  had water in the back-pack, and sandwiches in baggies.    This was before we all started to melt. At the Houston Zoo, the seals are the first thing you see. And, the last.  :)         I'd like to grow a plant in the shape of something, other than the shape of a plant. I'm sure I'd like one that looked like a rabbit, but an armadillo might be easier.    We haven't been to the zoo for quite a while. It was fun to see the things they have added.    When I see pretty flowers and plants at the zoo, I think hmmmmm. Houston is ONE hour from us, if they can grow it in the zoo, I can too.   I mean at home, not in a zoo.      I always like to see an animal grinning.   This leopard looked more like a stuffed animal than any animal I've seen...

Brenham, Texas

Rain and storms were predicted all day in the area. It was cloudy, and sorta rainy. It was not very nice, actually.   We went the big highway, instead of 36. Always take 36 in the Spring..... that way you can see the wildflowers. The area is lovely in Spring. The highway is pretty in Autumn.      As we speak, I have some Blue Bell in our freezer. It's the best ice cream in the country, because it comes from happy cows.      OK This was FUNNY. JUNO That would be ancient e-mail. Ancient.      Sometimes, the trees just don't have the gumption to totally turn colors.      We got to the meeting place a little early, so I walked down the sidewalk and saw this sign. Hee-Haw   You know who gets their clothes cleaned here.... or maybe who owns the place.      In case you've never seen it before, these are rose hips. ...

Help Me Not To Forget (and random pictures from the trip)

Luke 9:37-41 37  And it came to pass, that on the next day,  when they were come down from the hill, much people met him. 38  And, behold, a man of the company cried out,  saying, Master, I beseech thee,  look upon my son:  for he is mine only child. 39  And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out;  and it teareth him that he foameth again,  and bruising him hardly departeth from him. 40  And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not. 41  And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation,  how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.   I've been called by somebody that tells me to look at Him..... and confront my disbelief in His Word. Faithless and Perverse Don't see people as problems, this man's son needed Jesus. If Jesus died for all, then all can be reached.       ...

South Dakota

We left my little home town early-thirty Monday morning. Drove to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. On the way, we stopped at *The Kitchen*. It was a very good choice. Sometimes stopping at a strange place is a failure. Sometimes stopping at a familiar CHAIN is a failure. The place was clean, the service was good, and the food was edible.  On the way out, I talked to the guy? that owned the place.  He was glad to tell me how things were going..... how he changed the name of the place after he bought it..... how business was off of the busy highway. It was all fun and games....until I handed him a tract from our church, and inviting him to come see US if he were ever in our area. He didn't want to take it, and he was solid done talking.     This was in the parking lot..... This truck almost looked like the truck we own. Except this one was almost rusted in two.        I loved seeing the di...

#5 Road Trip

Guess who was at you know where picking up you know what..... I happened to be in the kitchen when the digital clock struck? 8:00 David was picking up the license from the courthouse at this time.   A few last hugs for Lydia McEntire   From Papa    From Momma      I didn't forget anything......      Lydia McEntire walking out the door.... one more time.      Just a fact. If you don't have hair.... the wind doesn't bother it.....    David's dad....... looks like they all called each other and said: WEAR BLUE    Married.    As you can see, the clock in this picture, tells you what time, everything happened.   July 28 2014   (I didn't get the memo to wear blue)        Good-Bye Lydia Rose Corradini     Good-bye David's dad. Good-bye Da...
