Celebration!

Thinking back to my life before I got saved..... a celebration meant a totally different thing to me. Today, it means being excited about a Sunday at church!   Faith Baptist Church was organized in 1977, the year I graduated from high school. I rub keyboards and shoulders with people that do not have a church home. They are lonely. They have nobody to help them through bad times.... and nobody to enjoy  good times. I am so thankful for our church and the stand it has taken these past 35 years. I'm thankful for our people. The people that are there  when times are hard, and when times are good. 35 years of anything brings lots of change. I've been out of high school for 35 years. Gas was 63cents a gallon in 1977. We've had people come, people go. We have two *charter* members. They happen to be my father and mother in law. They've been here the whole 35 years. We got to honor them on Sunday. What a pity it

What's Up....Outside?

My mom sent these Hen and Chicks home with me in this old enamel cooker.....they are planted in sand from the back yard.  It was strange to be able to dig in something that wasn't hard as a rock.  I do hope these live.  I can't seem to keep potted plants alive, or very happy.  Zephyr is smirking.  Don't take the look on her face for a smile.  She would make a terrible church member. The Sunday morning of the celebration of our 35th anniversary as a church....I took this picture.  Can you believe this?  A blue-bonnet blooming in October?  We are having record breaking high temps.  Just what I like.  June like weather in October. This has been a good year for zinnias.  They continue to bloom and they continue to come up.  I have about 100 almost ready to bloom.....I'm not scared of a frost in October.....or November....and probably not December..... These are radish flowers.  I planted some seeds LAST September in a brick planter in front of the house a

Sheba

Sheba is watching our cat eat breakfast. The morning was cool. The door was open. She is seriously wishing she had some cat food. She is a heart beat at our feet. Or waist. She's 7 months old and the size of a small pony.

Revival Week

Above....is a picture of a dear friend. She married another friend of ours.... and they are moving away from the area. We didn't get to see each other very often, but it was nice to know we could visit their church once in a while and *visit*. They blessed us with their presence one night at the revival. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We had a great week at our church. Brother Hudson and his wife stayed at  Quintana Park in their trailer and had random meals with us. We also enjoyed eating with our church members in their homes. Mrs. Hudson and I went to a little  *hole in the wall* in Freeport for lunch one day. Here are my three guys. Caleb got the "unsmiling gene". My two sweet daughter in laws. I call them Dilly and K-dilly. They call me Milly. These are the daughters that are still home with us. Lydia and Kimberly They have been singing specials with their cousins, they have rea

Busy! Busy! Terribly Busy!

Somebunny asked me if I was OK.  I am totally OK, just busy.  Or just not feeling very bloggy. Been to church every night this week to hear Brother Wayne Hudson preach...... I've been enjoying my flowers!  A hummingbird came to visit the other day.....it let me spray it with the hose and it perched on my hollyhock! Heading for Kansas to see my parents for a week.  Haven't seen them for a year. I am glad to be going in October......mom said it might *frost*.  I'm going to roll in it.
