A project

I can buy t-shirts at a thrift store near me........for a dime each.  I choose the largest ones I can, and fun colors.  I cut the bottoms off, then cut them into strips.  The strips are actually loops, I connect the loops together kind of like you would two rubber bands.........then roll them into balls. Some t-shirts shed and crumble all over me.......I am in t-shirt dust........some cut up without any fuss.  I love to see my *pan* filled with rolled up balls, ready to crochet. I am going to crochet the biggest rug in the world made out of t-shirts.  So far, this one is worth 80cents....plus my time.  Sheba wishes I would hurry and put it on the floor for her.  I just hope I can find a washing machine large enough to wash it in.  What are you working on?  Do you always finish what you start?  Do you have more than one project going at a time?

Autumnal Decoration

I'm finally doing it! choosing choosing choosing cutting cutting cutting I'm making a quilt curtain for the little room off of the dining room. The curtains that were up, are now in my husband's office. They went perfect in there. I have lots of fabric to use up, and it will be nice to look at all of it instead of it being folded up on a shelf! Many memories are coming back when I see the old fabric. Dresses, aprons, skirts, jumpers. Things I've sewn for others, things I've sewn for US. What a fun project. I have more Autumnal fabric than I thought. I guess I tend to choose it.

New Window Skirts

So I had a whole pile of dresses I would never wear again, but I still liked the fabric.  I liked the fabric at one time well enough to sew it into a dress. I cut the skirts off of the bodice and went to thinking what I could do with the 'skirt'. One purple piece turned into a pillowcase for a birthday girl. The orange you see in the picture turned into two pillowcases for Kimberly.  She likes orange. The other Autumn/Fall 'skirt' pieces turned into dining room curtains. I am thinking it is the first time there have been curtains in the dining room....with pockets. (the one with pockets) Most of the time, the curtains will be open.  We like to look out on the back yard. It's pretty all year long. Especially the season that is coming.....
So I buy this frame.  It smelled kind of old....I didn't realize just HOW old it smelled.  It had a paper in it dated 1938. I have had this little doll dress as long as I can remember.  In the past, it just got moved from place to place.  I wanted to do something special with it. So I framed it.  In the very old frame.  I thought it was very fitting.

I did it!!

I figured it out I finally figured it out. I can make a real drawstring bag. I saw it on Martha Stewart. Then went to her site and learned even more. Then totally messed it up. Then figured it out. Now I won't forget. I gave this, my first one, to my pink friend. (rabbit not included)

Evolution And My Newest Craft

I was making key-chains....... . and they turned in to little bowls, then they turned into baskets with a handle, then they turned into whisker baskets . Then I put eyes on them, and now they're Kitty Whisker Baskets. They're not very big, so you have to think of 'tiny' whimsical things to put in them.
