Rabbit Trails

Friday, while Harvey was approaching the coast of Texas, I started to clean up my sewing room. *Somebody let it get messy.* The above picture is a huge old kitchen pantry from a sale.  It holds yarn, embroidery patterns, holiday fabric, sewing patters and crochet hooks.   The bird bag you see is the bag I take along in the car on long trips. I fix embroidery projects. I don't get car sick, so it's a fun thing to do while driving. It's better than crocheting because when I pull the thread up, I also look up. With crocheting, I never get to look up to see the country side. To the right is where I keep all my embroidery thread. I do have lots, but I do lots of embroidering. It's a low cost hobby and I love it. The top can is full of variegated thread. This is the table my sewing machine is on. It was formerly my Pastor and Wife's kitchen table. It's kind of special. The fabric on the left are hopeful aprons....

Kimberly found this fabric yesterday at our favorite thrift store..........I made her an apron last night. It has been dubbed the 'Dancing Apron'.

5 holiday fabrics (snowflakes, snowmen, hearts, mittens, ice skates, poinsettia, holly, country print) lace ric-rac buttons (lots) tag that says MO made it long ties fits most everybody (unless the Jolly Green Giant leaves a comment) the pocket is possibly large enough for a kitten........... I forgot about these aprons..........I think they will look nice on the shelves. These were my Aunt Sharon's aprons. My mom kept them for me when they were going through her stuff. It doesn't look like they've ever been worn, and I don't remember Aunt Sharon wearing aprons.......but they were still hers.

I just made this for Olivia to wear on Valentine's Day. And no, I did not enjoy sewing on the 'fluff'.

I didn't take a very good picture of this.......but it's actually an old apron. See the pocket? It evidently had a band? tie? that went through the waist........I just put a curtain rod in it.........doesn't it JUST GO SO WELL with my purple wall? And why do they call it Spray and Wash when it is more like a stick deoderant?

I think I can make a pattern for this.......it will fit sideways on a regular piece of fabric. I can make it longer, or wider, or shorter.
