At the end of a perfect day.....

Earthly speaking, I had a wonderful day yesterday.  It started just like any normal day, good coffee.  I finished the book of Esther, I enjoy that story and now understand the Feast of Purim better.   I wore my very favorite outfit (dark gray skirt, red top, plaid snap shirt)  and put on a little Sweet Honesty perfume....thanks Avon.   The year is coming to an end and I'm getting closer to finishing my Bible reading.  I fixed up a new plan for next year, this year I will read a systematic chart.....starting with Genesis, ending with Revelation. James gave me the printer he isn't using any more.  I haven't had a printer for years, it will really be nice to print off Hobby Lobby coupons and Sunday School papers. While I was getting an area ready for the printer I found a little book on friendship.....I hope to fix it up for a friend with a January birthday. The little birthday book I hope to fix up needed pictures.....Walgreen's had 25 fre...

December 27th

I think I am going to enjoy these.   I love living in a place that sells flip-flops right next to winter boots. I full plan to make this beautiful bunny fabric into a bag.  A shoe bag.  I always need summpin to put my shoes in when we go places.  I had what I thought was a 40% off coupon today for Hobby Lobby......didn't discover it was not valid until after the fabric was cut.  Oh well.  It was only $4.00. I can't wait!   If you like pistachios, say so.  Did you know they dye them red to hide imperfections?  I'd rather see the imperfections than have the dye on my fingers for three days.  I love them.   Keebler used to make a pretzel that was buttery in the regular pretzel shape like this.  They were really good.  A little elf told them I liked them, so they stopped making them.  Or so it seems. These are good, too.  I like a pretzel with a crunch and big chunks of salt. O.K., O.K., I realize ...

A Flyover

I am from Kansas.   I saw huge flocks of birds like this all the time over the fields of grain. Since there are no fields of grain down here, I don't see it too often. I love the way the birds fly together and change directions, all in one beautiful movement, it resembles a school of fish in the ocean. darting zipping back and forth left, right, left, right I think it is the neatest thing..... and sometimes I have my camera with me. I don't miss the wind, I don't miss the cold winters, but I do miss the  *flyovers*

Oh Be Careful

don't believe everything you see, or read if you're going to buy a Noah's Ark book for your own kids, or grand-kids get a realistic one don't mix them up at a young age

Trees.

I've  always  been  fond of little trees. These were PERFECT! They were at a Kroger in Alvin. A place I don't shop of course, I have my  own Kroger. These were a little taller than a first grader. Just right.I like things compact and tight.Tall trees fall, short  ones don't. And if they do, the  damage is small. As long as I'm in the minority, we will have a big tree.

Jolly

Jolly used to be an inside cat.  She would perch herself on a windowsill and look outside at the birds and the trees......she would sit by the opened front door and stare out the screen.  She acted like she wanted to be free.  So, now she's an outside cat, unless she can GET IN. I was just walking through the front-room the other day, and there she was, comfortable a ever on the back of our new love-seat atop an afghan from my Granny. She wanted out, now she wants in.  Too bad. I like outside cats better than inside cats and I like our cats better than the neighbor cats, but I'd like the neighbor cats the best if THEY caught our mice and we didn't HAVE any outside cats. Given the chance, Jolly would be Queen.  If somebunny says A CAT GOT IN THE HOUSE....we all know who it is.  She used to run to our back bedroom and get under our mattress where nobunny could reach her. (not even with a STICK)  She thought it was really cute.  Well, we got...

A Stick

This is our *stick*. Does your house have a stick? We used it a lot when the kids were all here. More things evidently rolled under furniture, had to be un-poked out of corners,  jabbed, reached, knocked down,  smacked, whacked and retrieved..... when there were 8 of us. If your house doesn't have stick, then how do you get cats out of the recessed lighting? tennis balls from under the couch? cobwebs in the garage? Christmas tree parts out of the vacuum hose? little people that fall behind the freezer? fabric from your TALLEST shelf? If I had a dime for every time somebody yelled: *WHERE is the STICK?* I could probably buy  a new broom.

weather

I love this time of year where we live. The windows are open and it doesn't cost anything to be somewhat comfortable. FREE cold air. Cold air that blows right in the windows.    Zinnias all year round........and some early wildflower *Henbit*. My two favorites. , What do you like about the weather where you live? Do your April showers bring May flowers?

this is why......

......I don't take very many pictures of Bunny.

December on 9th

Kimberly is now the official *hat maker* in the house.   She even learned how to make pretty flowers to go on them.  I look horrible in hats, but that won't stop me from choosing some yarn at Hobby Lobby and having her make me one.  With ruffles. Twirly skirts. Autumnal Pictures....... Cookie Exchange !! Heather wins the prettiest ornament award. !! I sent some washrags to Kansas to sell at a store where my sister works.   Some key chains, too. See the purse?  The plastic around the magnet tore.  I threw it away.   Now I'm using my Fossil Vintage one. This is what the top of our piano looks like.   Laugh in December. And no, it's not on fire. I'm almost to the end of the year with my Bible reading.  I can't wait to start next year. Thank you General Wok. A very good friend from the past visited our church and preached.   When I got up one December morning, I smiled.......it looks like some...
