*I* have the buttons!

Button! Button! Who has the Button? This was an early birthday present  f rom my Bosom Buddy. My friend of over 30 years. She saw these at a sale.... and KNEW I would love them. She was right.  Somebunny collected these beautiful old buttons, then sewed them on a piece of cardboard. I am not going to leave them this way. I will have to get some  *button display* ideas. Every time I look at them, I choose a new favorite!
WE ARE HOME. WE HAD FUN. LOTS OF IT. MORE LATER. STAY TUNED.

One Day At the Beach

One day at the beach, it wasn't so pretty.  We don't go *all* the time, so when we do, I kind of look forward to pretty sand, a few rocks and lots of shells. This particular day was not such a great day to go.  We literally could NOT get to the water.  Mounds and mounds of seaweed stood between us and the ocean.  More was floating in.  It was really kind of strange. The seaweed was stopping the water at a point.  At a point I had never seen before. We always find ourselves talking about how the people in the mountains would like to live by the ocean, people in Kansas might like to live in a bustling city, people in a bustling city might want to live in a little rural town, people in a little rural town wish they lived in California.  There is beauty wherever you live.  Find it. Take pictures of it.  Enjoy it.  It's O.K. to like mountains if you live on flat prairie land.......but don't let it make you restless and unhapp...

a letter to a friend

Dear -------------, I have been fine....and I do want to blog....and write letters and look through quote books.  It just isn't happening right now. Everything that keeps me busy is good, so I can't complain. I am selling items on our local Brazoria County FACEBOOK site, giving dog baths, pulling weeds, moving things in my gardens, de-cluttering, driving Kimberly back and forth to work, sewing skirts, making rag rugs, eating corn on the cob, going camping in the rain, talking to my mom on the phone, texting pictures now that my phone is working again, watching Leave It To Beaver, ordering Croc shoes, waiting for Croc shoes in the mail, making music cd's, getting Sunday School lessons ready........thinking of WHAT to take to church to eat when we have all day services.  (you know I only have a kitchen because it came with the house) I guess I have to have a window of peace and quiet to write blogs and read blogs!   I'm getting my hair cut today, and my eyebrows waxed, th...

why?

This may be why I haven't been blogging: Sheba DOES sleep.  But when she's awake, she is REALLY awake. She's getting really big. She used to fit nicely under this stool.......now she has to crawl to get under it. Dogs like to sleep under things. See her baby teeth! I love to hear her padding from room to room.  She loves to romp. She also likes to waller with Bunny. Did you ever see the little book for children called *Five Beds For Bitsy* ? Sheba is a heartbeat at our feet. We are really enjoying her. We are excited for her to grow up and be a respectable dog. One that stands still for a bath. One that will let you play with her ears. One that will let you stick your hand in her food dish while she is eating. One that will not chew a leash in two. One that will walk and run with a leash and not pull our arms out of socket. One that will GO OUTSIDE to go potty.

Cowman

Dr. J. R. Miller tells the following beautiful incident: “I sat one evening with a father and mother beside the bedside of their little child, who seemed about to leave them. We talked of the will and love of God, and, before offering prayer, I asked the parents, ‘What shall we ask God to do?’ There was a moment of silence, and then the father, with deep emotion, said, ‘We would not dare decide. Leave it to Him.’ Only God knows what will be best — to live in this world, enduring its wintry weather, or to be taken to the summerland of heaven, to grow up there, getting the crown without the conflict. We are not wise enough to decide what will be best; we would rather leave it to our Father.” I have a friend who is in the hospital. Her name is Kara. Please pray for her.

Glimpses of Lydia

Aren't these lovely flip-flops.  NO-bunny would EVER guess where I got them. I was fixing to get rid of them..........but gave them to Lydia instead.  I didn't know she had polish that matched.  I should have known. I took a picture of Lydia.......at Taco Bell.  I missed her. Her new hair cut...........she just had a little taken off the bottom, some new layers and different bangs. (I hate bangs) Lydia and Bunny.
