Galveston 2014

(James can parallel park, I can barely spell it.)     We drove to Galveston after James got off work. We couldn't even remember the last time we were there. We have all kinds of *time* markers to help us remember, but we're still not sure. Was it when he was with his Pastor? Or with a missionary? Or me? Or when babies were being born? I think the last time I was there I was with Rebekah and Heather and a bunch of little girls. I can't say I enjoy Galveston and the Seawall in the summer.... I like it best in the winter when everybody wears LOTS of clothes.      We first went to Rainforest Café. We sit over by the area that had a sign up to remind us to help save the Rainforests. OK. What do I do first? Stop using toothpicks, or what? All the guys in there look like Boy Scouts. Except for one guy. The guy that did rabbit ears behind my husband as he walked by. A Boy Scout would never do that. ...

3 Strikes, You're OUT

this is NOT going to work.   1. Fruit Punch (the worse flavor in the world next to raspberry) 2. Kool Aid (no kid ought to be brought up this stuff, sugar and food coloring) 3. Blonde Oreo (what's up with that?)   don't buy these things don't support their dumb inventions

32 years today

I no longer sign cards, McEntire 8   But that's what we were for a long time. It all started on May 28. 32 years ago, with just two of us.    Just like any other marriage, we have gone through seasons. You don't realize it from day to day, but change happens. Ha, NONE of these things are in our back yard anymore. It's all gone. Except for the dumb tree we should have kept mowing.     I wish I had pictures all in order to make a perfect blog post of our married life. But, I've never made it a priority to do so..... so here we go random again.   When all of our kids are gone, we will just be 2..... right where we started.     Which is the way it's supposed to be. You better finish what you start. And like it.   I heard or read something a long time ago about marriage. All these books, seminars, devotional thoughts, l...

Memorial Day 2014....this was my day.

I got up around six this morning.  I did because I thought it would be a good idea to go check on Sheba.  To see if she got sick in her kennel again. She was fine, no mess.....so I made coffee and started the peach clobber. (It usually takes three people to help me get ingredients out the night before. Everybunny wants to eat it, but nobunny wants to help.) While the real pot of coffee is brewing, I make a cup of decaf in our little one cupper..... because I don't like to wait.   I checked the flowers in my *meadow*, and got some cosmos seeds. It was a beautiful little white flower....I always try to save the specially colored flower seeds. Anybunny can have a pink cosmos....      The Peach Clobber turned out. Sometimes it doesn't. I use the same ingredients, the same pan, the same spoons and everything every time. Maybe it's my attitude?   The big people got to pour half & half on t...
