Bounce My Dressing

It's OK to do the first 7 things, but nobody can bounce my dressing anymore.  Because I won't make it anymore.
I make BOXED dressing.
It isn't so bad surrounded by REAL mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, yeast rolls, pumpkin pie and gravy.
Turkey, Cranberry Sauce and Green Bean Casserole.
Nobody will even notice that you made boxed dressing.
I will no longer stress myself out about dressing.
Life is too short.
I will make boxed dressing and remember the Christmas that everybody LOVED it.

If you CAN make good dressing, then do it.
If you can't, admit it and do boxed.
Why do you think Kraft makes boxed dressing?
For people like me.
And maybe YOU.

I "do it", too! THIS year I mixed 4 kinds - tradition, sage, turkey, and cornbread! I added giblets and broth from the turkey along with some onions and celery. It was fabulous! Everyone SAID so :)

(And I really, REALLY like dressing! Don't know why I don't make it more often.)

Almost sounds like a quilt with all the extras. I have time to ponder on all of that before I make it. :)

I like your pictures of leaves, and I am glad you are getting the autumn you like. Where I live we have already had 4 inches of snow, and it was 14 degrees today. I guess I live north of you! :)

Just about everybody lives 'North' of us!

I feel better now...I always make box dressing and have carried an underlying guilt about it. I haven't recieved the compliments yet. :)

Don't Be Idle

This is Zephyr. She is the most discontent, unhappy cat I've ever seen in my life. She is selfish plain and simple. All she can think about is HER belly. This is not done in silence. When I get up (early), she's been up for hours wasting away. She's died of starvation 8 times. Don't be like Zephyr. The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs   "Who are the men who are most discontented?  but idle persons-- for they lie around and find fault with everything."   (page 50-51) Zephyr is an unhappy cat. Not a happy camper.   How about you? IDLE lazy, slothful, work-shy (ha ha) shiftless, inactive, sluggish (like a bad drain) without purpose DISCONTENT dissatisfaction with circumstances displeasure Have you no weeds to pull? No list to make or finish? No bread to bake? Nothing to mend or fix? No corner to clean? Nothing to learn? No letter to write? No project to fin...

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have alw...
