Don't Be Idle

This is Zephyr.
She is the most discontent, unhappy cat
I've ever seen in my life.
She is selfish plain and simple.
All she can think about is HER belly.
This is not done in silence.
When I get up (early),
she's been up for hours wasting away.
She's died of starvation 8 times.
Don't be like Zephyr.

The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment
by Jeremiah Burroughs
"Who are the men who are most discontented?
but idle persons--
for they lie around and find fault
with everything."
(page 50-51)

Zephyr is an unhappy cat.
Not a happy camper.
How about you?

IDLE
lazy, slothful, work-shy (ha ha)
shiftless, inactive, sluggish (like a bad drain)
without purpose

DISCONTENT
dissatisfaction with circumstances
displeasure

Have you no weeds to pull?
No list to make or finish?
No bread to bake?
Nothing to mend or fix?
No corner to clean?
Nothing to learn?
No letter to write?
No project to finish?
No soul to cheer up?
No good book to read?

The more constructive things we do,
the better we feel.
(watching TV all day is never fulfilling)

Self inflicted boredom is a horrible thing.
Don't be that person.

Proverbs 19:15
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep;
and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

this and that

So, I get up this morning, and the rag-rug fairy tied all my rag-rug pieces together and had them wound in a nice ball.  I think I will leave more out tonight and see if it can happen again. OK.  I like Ross now.  These shoes were $1.49.  Purple velvet DUCK SHOES.  IN MY SIZE.  My plans are to go into that store every time I get groceries from now on.  Can't beat $1.49 for some of the neatest shoes in the world. I have seen this in a couple of places on blogs and the internet in general.  I was fully planning on ordering one....but our Kroger store had them for $12 something.  We've made 6 or 7 cups of coffee with this in our K-pot....and I am tickled to have it. I can now buy fun kinds of ground coffee.....not to say that Wal-Mart store brand decaff is a fun brand, but it's what I always used to drink.  And I lived. These are useful, not beautiful.  I need useful when I garden.  I bought some very low cost sni...
