Life Goes On

The trees were just the right size....to wear these aprons most of the day.

I have garage sales for different reasons.  It all comes down to money, but there are lots of different ways to spend money which make lots of different reasons to make money.
This garage sale was for something specific.
We are taking a trip.
A big trip.
We will be taking our last two kids
to Washington DC
and
New York.....
and lots of things in between.
So, I wanted spending money.
It is a challenge
to make the money myself.
Garage sales aren't a lot of fun....especially in this heat.....but they are worth it.

I put sunscreen on three times.
I brushed my hair once.
We ate donuts, McDonalds and had Sonic.
and animal cookies

What exciting trips that are coming up for you. The most excitement here lately was the used book sale I went to today... pretty exciting though! :)
Love to you friend!

I also like the blue apron. Too, too cute!!

Washington DC and New York, huh? Sounds like a great trip.

If you come through NC...oh say Shelby/Gastonia/Charlotte or even SC in way of Blacksburg and Spartanburg, give me a ring...maybe you could stop by for a minute. Even better...church while you're on the road.

Be sure to write down those cities. ;)

Don't Be Idle

This is Zephyr. She is the most discontent, unhappy cat I've ever seen in my life. She is selfish plain and simple. All she can think about is HER belly. This is not done in silence. When I get up (early), she's been up for hours wasting away. She's died of starvation 8 times. Don't be like Zephyr. The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs   "Who are the men who are most discontented?  but idle persons-- for they lie around and find fault with everything."   (page 50-51) Zephyr is an unhappy cat. Not a happy camper.   How about you? IDLE lazy, slothful, work-shy (ha ha) shiftless, inactive, sluggish (like a bad drain) without purpose DISCONTENT dissatisfaction with circumstances displeasure Have you no weeds to pull? No list to make or finish? No bread to bake? Nothing to mend or fix? No corner to clean? Nothing to learn? No letter to write? No project to fin...

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have alw...
