A Birthday Present

I knew I wanted to make somebunny a bag.  I knew I wanted to pick out new fabric, not use some I had on my shelves.  I went to Hobby Lobby.  I knew I didn't need very much, so I could choose something really fun.  I must have looked for 1/2 hour......going back and forth, well this, no----this.  Well, this.  Nahhh.
So I chose this blue and magenta flowery print.  I have found that MOST of my time goes into choosing fabric......not in the actual sewing. Then I have to choose ric-rac.....then buttons.  It's a wonder anybunny ever gets a present from me.  I love to put colors together, I love to sew.....so it's worth every minute I spend.  Do you have trouble choosing colors? fabric? buttons? paint? nail polish?

No. No. No. Yes. No.

What a beautiful bag. The colors kind of remind me of the colors in the apron you gave me - which I absolutely LOVE, by the way.

Possibly being drawn to that color hasn't made choosing any easier for me!

I always KNEW we were kindred spirits. I am just like that. I spend a looong time choosing fabric and putting the right colors together. It is soo much fun. I think planning the fabric is almost the best part...but I do love to sew and see the finished product and know that somebody's gonna love it. I LOVE the bag... it is so cute! Yes to all! Have a great day!

I guess I'm a kid in a candy store when I look at fabric.
I don't have troubles with those things. Don't spend a whole lot of time sewing. I was never taught growing up. I can sew a basic skirt with elastic waist and regular coulottes. But that's the extent of it. I still like to browse the fabric departments though. LOL

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have always been interested in the *family tree*, dates, p
