I DID find a $10 bill many years ago on an empty beach in Florida - early in the morning!

The latest was finding the coffee table (now positioned in our living room) a perfectly good jogging-stroller, and child's chair and child-sized table - all laying out beside a garbage can along a country roadside...

Jim and I have a game...when one of us finds a coin, the challenge is ON! One day I found 12 cents. :)
One day Tyler found a 50 dollar bills blowing in the Safeway parking lot. !!! He was young enough to think it was a million.

Once I found a little tiny bitsy rock in my pocket. I twirled it between my thumb and forefinger in my pocket while we shopped at a grocery store in Colorado. Right after I pulled the rock out of my pocket to throw it away, I decided to look at the bitsy rock and low and behold, it was my wedding diamond!!! Does that count?

I found $8 in a vest pocket I had put in the Goodwill pile... and then reconsidered.

That was a lot of fun!

Don't Be Idle

This is Zephyr. She is the most discontent, unhappy cat I've ever seen in my life. She is selfish plain and simple. All she can think about is HER belly. This is not done in silence. When I get up (early), she's been up for hours wasting away. She's died of starvation 8 times. Don't be like Zephyr. The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs   "Who are the men who are most discontented?  but idle persons-- for they lie around and find fault with everything."   (page 50-51) Zephyr is an unhappy cat. Not a happy camper.   How about you? IDLE lazy, slothful, work-shy (ha ha) shiftless, inactive, sluggish (like a bad drain) without purpose DISCONTENT dissatisfaction with circumstances displeasure Have you no weeds to pull? No list to make or finish? No bread to bake? Nothing to mend or fix? No corner to clean? Nothing to learn? No letter to write? No project to fin...

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have alw...
