My birthday

I got a few patterns............Lydia has a couple of those jackety sweaters to wear with sleeveless dresses............and I thought the pattern on the right would be good for jammies.

I hate it when things roll out of a cabinet because they were unceremoniously chunked in there in a red onion............when this came rolling out the morning of my birthday, I thought it deserved a picture.

A nice birthday surprise.........

Drank coffee out of my favorite cup............when Kimberly bought it for me a while back, she was concerned that I wouldn't use it.  I'm concerned that I can't use it EVERY morning...

Everybunny knew what I wanted for breakfast.  James went to Shipley's instead of asking me to walk two miles with him.  Happy Birthday to ME>

For some reason, finding pink buttons is more fun than any other color.

Kimberly took me to Top China.  I LOVE their buffet.  Their dessert is lame. Honestly, who wants pineapple and red jello for dessert?

ahhhhhhhhhhh, now there's dessert.

I had a great day turning 52.
I wish I could do it again.
Maybe next year.........

(Belated) Happy Birthday, Mo! I'm still trying to figure out what that pink thing is that rolled out of the cupboard...

We're taking a walk (only a 1/2 block or so) to OUR version of Shipleys. It's a grandchildren special. (May be the last year as we hear rumors they've bought a building outside of town and are planning a move.)

I like your new blog look.

AND, as one who knows, you can't do 52 over again "next year". So you might as well enjoy THIS one thoroughly.

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have always been interested in the *family tree*, dates, p
