Daniel and Donut

I got a rabbit one year for my birthday.  I named her Amelia and called her Millie.  She was a beautiful REX rabbit.  She had curly eyelashes.  She died in childbirth......and I haven't had a rabbit since.  Daniel my son WANTED me to get another one......but I just didn't want to.  Donut came our way..........and Daniel and I fixed up a cage yesterday for her.  Mostly Daniel did it, but I learned how to twist galvanized wire.

She can be flat on the ground in this cage so she can nibble grass, or we can put it up on bricks in case it rains.  Daniel put some bricks in there for her, and she sits on one all the time.  He is coming over today to fix her second level.  It was a beautiful day yesterday to *do* a rabbit cage.  We had a Sonic break and went to Girourds for locks and screws.  We ate Gobstoppers and visited.

We still need a safe box for her to sleep in, have babies in, be warm in, and be protected in......we think Donut is *with bunnies*, so Lydia will pick a daughter for her to keep...then I plan to find another girl.  Zinnia? Beatrix? Doris?  We'll see.

Enjoy! When I was a child, we had rabbits. Pets (I think). What do YOU have them for? Pets? To sell? To eat?

I like the name Beatrix! Seems related to rabbit life, for sure!

oh dear, what an absolutely precious little rabbit! So beautiful and fluffy! I love the name Beatrix for a rabbit. You are very clever.

I've sometimes considered the idea of keeping a rabbit as a pet, but worry that it will chew on furniture and electrical cords. And of course, I do have two cats so I suppose I really don't need another pet!

I don't know if I could enjoy a rabbit in the house......we have too many places to hide and too many cords to chew.

I forget that the first bunny name was Amelia! That is funny! Except we call Amelia with an y not an ie.
