shiny time

I was looking for something to make my *silver* shine.....and this stuff really worked!  I know you have to be careful with Ajax, Comet, and Bon ami.......you usually should only use it on the older sinks and tubs.....real sinks and real tubs.  I was very careful with this.....and will continue to use it.  I'm not for fancy cleaners and wipes and mops and squirt bottles and special this and bottles of that.  I like to clean with baking soda, salt, vinegar.....and Spic and Span and Ajax.  I *do* have a very old sink......
I cut old t-shirts up and use them for rags, and just throw them away when I'm done using them.  I also buy very cheap paper towels to clean with.  If you see Bounty or Viva in my kitchen....more than likely it was a present from somebunny.
What do you like to clean with?

I like to clean with Windex because it will clean almost ANYTHING. And I *love* the smell of it. I don't like the generic brands of it because more often than not they leave streaks. It has to be the real stuff.

I also like Murphy's Oil Soap. The smell is *heavenly*.
I am the same with cleaners but I do like bon ami. Did you know the name means my friend? We use old towels, clothing and such around here too.

I use spray cleaners from Dollar Tree, and also Comet. They all work pretty well. I cut up old towels and shirts for rags too. I think this is probably a sort of old fashioned habit? Its funny to see a bag or box of rags for sale in hardware stores and such.

Thanks for the great cleaning tips Mrs. Mobunny :-)
have you ever tried Bar Keeper's Friend? It is supposedly not toxic and I especially like how it cleans my stainless steel pots and pans. Lately I've been using Dr. Bronner's magic soaps made with essential oils. They too are non-toxic, natural soaps. You can use them for body washing or toilet washing! I even use them like I would Murphy's Oil Soap on wood. Beautiful blog you have here...I came over to visit from Rebecca's place :)

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have always been interested in the *family tree*, dates, p
