Bunny and the Violin

Once upon a time there was a dog called Bunny.
She lived in a house with Kimberly.
Poor Bunny.  Kimberly got a violin.
It is driving Bunny crazy.
A sweet little friend that knows how to actually play,
is trying to help Kimberly learn.
Bunny is not having fun.
But Kimberly and G. are.
So, go to bed Bunny.
The end.

OH dear, poor Bunny!! Cover your ears!
My son was a trumpet player and I was a piano and violin player ( a very bad one) so I know all too well the awful wrong notes and squeaking sounds that can be made when someone is learning to play an instrument. But if they stick with it, it will be worth it in the end!

I'm with Bunny on this one, beginning violin players are enough to make *anyone* wish they were somewhere else! (o;

I lived in Central Kansas in a little town called Seward. We drove to Great Bend, Larned or St. John for groceries. Seward only has dirt streets, it was a wonderful place to grow up. Cottonwood trees, cats, fireworks, playgrounds from old schools, strawberry fields, mulberry trees, wheat fields, a gas station for *pop*, trees to climb and a post office with the old fashion boxes that looked just like little safes.

Kim and G. can already play a duet! They mix stuff up all the time....one plays piano and the other is on the guitar, one is on the guitar and they both sing....it is a GOOD thing.

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have alw...
