Chicago


Caleb took a picture of this house for me. He was in Chicago for some training classes a while back, and saw this. This is truly a little house on the highway. He knew I would like it! Poor little house. One of the best books I have ever read was about Chicago houses! Now I don't even remember the title of the book......it was an old book and showed pictures of the houses in 'their day' and told the story of the people that built them and lived in them. The people were financially successful. But that is about it. Maybe ONE home and family loved the Lord out of the whole thick book. The homes were great mansions, but the dwellers had empty hearts......most of the fancy rich houses this book spoke of, are gone. GONE! The soul lives on.

Don't Be Idle

This is Zephyr. She is the most discontent, unhappy cat I've ever seen in my life. She is selfish plain and simple. All she can think about is HER belly. This is not done in silence. When I get up (early), she's been up for hours wasting away. She's died of starvation 8 times. Don't be like Zephyr. My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory!
