Cowman

Dr. J. R. Miller tells the following beautiful incident:

“I sat one evening with a father and mother beside the bedside of their little child, who seemed about to leave them. We talked of the will and love of God, and, before offering prayer, I asked the parents, ‘What shall we ask God to do?’ There was a moment of silence, and then the father, with deep emotion, said, ‘We would not dare decide. Leave it to Him.’ Only God knows what will be best — to live in this world, enduring its wintry weather, or to be taken to the summerland of heaven, to grow up there, getting the crown without the conflict. We are not wise enough to decide what will be best; we would rather leave it to our Father.”

I have a friend who is in the hospital.
Her name is Kara.
Please pray for her.

I just prayed for Kara. Our infant grandson is ALSO in the hospital. Some pretty scary moments. Reading this story brought a lump to my throat. I SO hope it is not prophetic....but it is SO true.

We WOULD not dare decide. We DO leave it to Him. And it appears that Silas WILL recover from this virus, thanks to the hand of God, medical science, good care of nurses and doctors, and the prayers of God's people. Waiting for the ventilator and feeding tubes to be unnecessary.... etc.

Any update on Kara?

Kara was on facebook for a little bit this morning.....that is always a good sign. They are waiting for her clot to go away on its own. I made her a sunshiny rag rug and she made a hat out of it. That's a good sign, too.

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have always been interested in the *family tree*, dates, p
