Around my gardens!!

This is a bloom from the Tulip Tree!
I can see it out of my kitchen window when I do dishes.
I didn't even know there WAS such a tree until this year.

This is Sara's rosebush.
It has the sweetest fragrance.
I love to see dew on roses.

Oleander Flower

This little blooming flower plant was a surprise this Spring
I have had fun watching it get different buds on it
and then bloom.
I moved it Tuesday night to get at some weeds....and some ants had made a
home for themselves underneath it....and it
uprooted....and is not going to make it.
I don't even know what it is so I can buy more seeds.

Tulip Tree bloom after it rained.

Just a lovely white larkspur.

A curly little flower.....
I'm pretty sure this one is a goner, too.

This is what cilantro looks like before it goes to seed.
Pretty little white flowers.
And no, you wouldn't use them for perfume.

Shrimp Plant

Another Larkspur.
I love these!

Sara's rose in full bloom.
I think this is the one I poured dew-water out of one morning.

So far, my only Zinnia.
This is the flower I plant the most of.....
and this year it is the flower I have the least of.

Your flowers are beautiful, my hoppy gardening friend. Spring is in your part of the world.
Our spring is getting the snowpack soft and slushy every day, and re-freezes at night.
Greenery is about a month away for me, so enjoyed your post.

I learned about Tulip trees when I was in 9th grade. I had to collect specific flowers for General Science class. Or was is Biology? Anyway, a Tulip tree bloom was on the required list.
I didn't know Cilantro had a bloom. Interesting! Looks like you have a pretty yard. I don't think one can have too many flowers. :)

I am from the land of Catalpa trees....and of course cottonwoods. Cilantro comes up, grows and can be cut for about two months, then it bolts straight up, blooms, then goes to seed. They get so tall they fall over being heavy with flowers.

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have always been interested in the *family tree*, dates, p
