Nave's Topical Bible

I have gotten rid of quite a few of my books in these past few years.  I feel I no longer need reference books. It's not that I have quit looking things up or learning, there's just another way to go about it these days. It is too easy to get on the internet and *google* things I need to know and want to find out.

products
health issues
music
people
clothing
crafts
recipes
how-to
books
news
and a million more things

I got this Nave's Topical Bible yesterday
for a dime.
Sometimes I have a word or name or place in my head,
and I just need to find where it is in the Bible.
I think this is one book I will not get rid of.
So many things in our lives we have to plug in or have a battery
to make them work.
It's just nice to have something in your hand sometimes
that doesn't glow or beep or ring.

I teach the girls age 2-12 on Sunday mornings.
I don't use flannel-graph or material from a publisher.
Last week we talked about Obadiah and being a Delightful Daughter.
How I made the two work together in the same lesson,
I don't know...........

I'm a topic*list*verse*word* type of learner and teacher.

honey
quail
leviathan
lentils
scribe
Bajith
vows

If you have one of these on your shelf.....
take a look inside....
Learning.  See instruction; knowledge

that is so cool.. and you got it for a dime?? I would love to find one of those, too. I know what you mean about having something in your hands that doesn't beep or glow, etc. I have been toying with the idea of getting an e reader and I do think I want one. But I just LOVE the feel of a book in my hands!

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have alw...
