I was remembering that on Peter Rabbit, his mother always had a fresh apron when folks came to visit. She called them pinafores. The young girl bunnies, Floppsy, and Moppsy had to have fresh aprons as well.
Aprons are so useful in and out of the kitchen especially ones with pockets.
We use them at my fireworks stand each summer to carry all kinds of things we need.

Aprons are a wonderful item to have in and out of the kitchen. We use them at our fireworks stand to carry needed items.
My husband has some favorite movies he likes to share with the grands. The "Peter Rabbit" movies. In these movies Peter's mom always has to have a fresh apron when company comes to call. The girl bunnies must have theirs too. Mother calls them pinafores.

I love aprons! In home economics in 7th grade, I made an apron of blue checked gingham, with smocking stiches across the bottom. I was so proud of it. My mother always made aprons, and through the years, my mother-in-law has also kept me supplied with hand made aprons. Now, I hand them down to my granddaughters. They love them!

is family eligible for the apron giveaway??? my mom always had odds and ends in her apron pockets: tissues, dental floss, spare buttons, silverware, occasionally a phone, sometimes toys....we always knew who wore it last!
We're so glad we found your lovely blog!! We have long adored vintage aprons and love your vintage inspired creations!!! Aprons bring back memories of grammy baking and the good old carefree days of our childhood.
Take care! Sheila and Sherrill

I loved when I bought something from you- and you put a picture in it grin My 4yo has been carrying it around in her purse for about 2 years and she shows it to everyone!
Dusti- who could definitely use another apron to replace the threadbare ones ;)

I think I have a couple of aprons somewhere ... they got packed away when we moved ... I should look for them ...

OR I could win a brand-new one-of-a-kind apron! Then I don't have to go searching through boxes. Plus I would get a package in the mail and doesn't that just make everyone's day better? :p

Whoever wins the Spring Dreams APRON is going to be one happy woman! I wear the APRON I got from you a few weeks ago frequently. Because I dress up for everyday (or so I'm told) I enjoy wearing an APRON most of the day, EVERYday!

(Does that mean I might be eligible to win THREE APRONS?)

or would that be 4?

My favorite apron in all the world is the purple one you made me years ago. Every time I wear it I think of you and wonder when I'll see you again. Our winter is slipping away quickly and I tell my husband we have to go visit you during our winter, I don't like the heat.

Love you guys,
Joyce

When I was little I wondered why moms and grandmas always wore aprons. I thought them quite unnecessary. Now that I have 4 kids and spend much of my life in the kitchen, I've found that I love aprons. Especially when they are as pretty as these! Who knew you could get dirty in a kitchen?

I feel a need to wear an apron when I am cooking with my church clothes on or when I am working with dye or curry. I find that when I don't wear an apron I usually wish I had. I need a full body apron for most of my apron needs.

The strings were tied, It was freshly washed, and maybe even pressed.
For Grandma, it was everyday to choose one when she dressed.
The simple apron that it was, you would never think about;
the things she used it for, that made it look worn out.

She may have used it to hold, some wildflowers that she'd found.
Or to hide a crying child's face, when a stranger came around.
Imagine all the little tears that were wiped with just that cloth.
Or it became a potholder to serve some chicken broth.

She probably carried kindling to stoke the kitchen fire.
To hold a load of laundry, or to wipe the clothesline wire.
When canning all her vegetables, it was used to wipe her brow.
You never know, she might have used it to shoo flies from the cow.

She might have carried eggs in from the chicken coop outside.
Whatever chore she used it for, she did them all with pride.
When Grandma went to heaven, God said she now could rest.
I'm sure the apron that she chose, was her Sunday best.

I miss you Grandma...I'm quite sure she would have enjoyed a MoBunny apron for each occasion !!

I would certainly be proud to wear one...Mrs. MoBunny !

I remember my mother wearing her apron. Sometimes she would have it on all day if she was cleaning the house. You could find all kinds of treasures in the pockets. I need to get back into wearing one. I love em.

I love the stories I hear about Susannah Wesley whose kids would not bother her while she had an apron over her head. She would sit and pray.

I like the Spring Dream. It's very Peach-y. (:

I was trying to remember the poem that Rae posted about Grandma's APRON. That always reminds me of my own grandma who raised a family from the covered wagon, to automobiles, trains and even became an international travel (planes.) So modern and traditional at the same time. An apron should be in every home!

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have always been interested in the *family tree*, dates, p
