ZOOP

One of the funnest things we do is make zoop. Not everybody has the ingredients. Some have the cold weather. Some might have a neat old pan. Some might have pretty flowers. Some might have a sidewalk on the North to sit the pan full of pretty flowers in the cold weather. We had all the ingredients this week. One inch of water, sprinkle it with the flowers that are left in your garden, put it on the coldest sidewalk on your property on the coldest night of the year. It will freeze, pry it out of the old pan with a fork and then you have zoop. It is mainly good just to take neato pictures. We don't eat it. We eat brownies and ice-cream.

Don't Be Idle

This is Zephyr. She is the most discontent, unhappy cat I've ever seen in my life. She is selfish plain and simple. All she can think about is HER belly. This is not done in silence. When I get up (early), she's been up for hours wasting away. She's died of starvation 8 times. Don't be like Zephyr. The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs   "Who are the men who are most discontented?  but idle persons-- for they lie around and find fault with everything."   (page 50-51) Zephyr is an unhappy cat. Not a happy camper.   How about you? IDLE lazy, slothful, work-shy (ha ha) shiftless, inactive, sluggish (like a bad drain) without purpose DISCONTENT dissatisfaction with circumstances displeasure Have you no weeds to pull? No list to make or finish? No bread to bake? Nothing to mend or fix? No corner to clean? Nothing to learn? No letter to write? No project to fin...

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have alw...
