A trip to Colorado

Photobucket

We left Thursday night and got back the way next Saturday evening. If we would have stopped to take a picture every time we wanted to....we'd still be there I'm sure.
I saw sooooo many little houses......poor little houses. The roofs were caved in, the walls were crooked, nobody home anymore. That's what was impossible to take pictures of. Maybe next time!!
We listened to Louis L'Amour books read on cd.....cd's we haven't listened to for a long time and drank coffee on our way there and back.
The weather was perfect the whole time. No rain on our picnic, snow came at a very welcomed time. The kids played off and on in it all day Thursday. When we were asked to go, it seemed so impossible and so far away. Now it is just a memory. And a good one.

Hello Mrs. Mo, You certainly did get some good pictures. I love the one where you and your friend have those things on your heads! You Cuties! I was pleased that you were able to make the trip and that "we" were able to provide you with nice weather during your visit. (I live in Colorado.) My husband works just around the corner from Celestial Seasonings - such a nifty place. Did you go into the peppermint room? I love your blog and I'm always so glad to see a new post.

EVELYN!!! That is my middle name!!! What a pretty area you live in!!! I liked the peppermint room but I don't care to drink the tea. I like roastaroma and the chocolate chai. The weather WAS perfect the whole time we were there. **you noticed the things on our heads** :)
!!
Then you know where Estes is.....we ate at a BBQ place there. And Casa Bonita and went to the thrift store right by it....and Cheesecake Factory!!

Well, isn't that something? Evelyn isn't a name that you hear much anymore. I was named after a great aunt. I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip to Colorado. We try to get up to Estes at least once a year. My husband is a Colorado native and he says only visitors ever eat at Casa Bonita. ;-) I've only been there once myself, and I didn't know there was a thrift store nearby. (I love a good thrift store! and I know you do too, from reading your previous postings.) If you ever get back this way again you'll have to stop by and see us!

yeah......I don't know if I'd make eating at Casa Bonita a habit....but I would eat there just to go to the thrift store that is near by......actually just right up the sidewalk. Maybe some day we will get to go back......and visit.

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have alw...
