Without Him

Without Him I could do nothing
Without Him I'd surely fail
Without Him I would be drifting
Like a ship without a sail

Without Him I would be dying
Without Him I'd be enslaved
Without Him life would be worthless
But with Jesus thank God I'm saved

Oh Jesus, oh Jesus
Do you know Him today
Please don't turn Him away
Oh Jesus, my Jesus
Without Him how lost I would be
Without Him how lost I would be

The last four songs on side two
are:
Without Him
Tho Autumn's Coming On
(I could have gone all day without THAT one)
Through It All
Hold To God's Unchanging Hand.

Good songs.

I also have a little tape player in my bedroom.
I listen to the Bible on tape in there.....
AND
I have Lester Roloff reading the New Testament~~~
and the RANDOM one I chose
to listen to this morning......he also said....

***Without Him I Could Do Nothing***

maybe I ought to think on this today
and tomorrow.
And the rest of my days.

In my junior and senior years of high school, I sang in a trio with two friends. We sang "Without Him" many, MANY times. I'm thankful you posted it for me to recall it. I really like "Through It All", too. (Not sure I've heard that autumn song.)

I have Bible on cassette tape also, I need to take it out and get started on listening to it everyday, instead of turning the TV on all the time! Thanks for the reminder that I need to use it! Love Kristi

Stuart Hamblen (who wrote the Autumn song) also wrote a song called "This Old House" that was really important to my dad when it was first released many years ago. He told me about it this past spring and our family sang it and recorded it for him. He was a good story-teller. I listened to the song you linked; it's a pretty one too.

Don't Be Idle

This is Zephyr. She is the most discontent, unhappy cat I've ever seen in my life. She is selfish plain and simple. All she can think about is HER belly. This is not done in silence. When I get up (early), she's been up for hours wasting away. She's died of starvation 8 times. Don't be like Zephyr. The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs   "Who are the men who are most discontented?  but idle persons-- for they lie around and find fault with everything."   (page 50-51) Zephyr is an unhappy cat. Not a happy camper.   How about you? IDLE lazy, slothful, work-shy (ha ha) shiftless, inactive, sluggish (like a bad drain) without purpose DISCONTENT dissatisfaction with circumstances displeasure Have you no weeds to pull? No list to make or finish? No bread to bake? Nothing to mend or fix? No corner to clean? Nothing to learn? No letter to write? No project to fin...

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have alw...
