Zoo Day

It was already hot. One parking lot was already full. But I had on my good walking shoes,  had water in the back-pack, and sandwiches in baggies.    This was before we all started to melt. At the Houston Zoo, the seals are the first thing you see. And, the last.  :)         I'd like to grow a plant in the shape of something, other than the shape of a plant. I'm sure I'd like one that looked like a rabbit, but an armadillo might be easier.    We haven't been to the zoo for quite a while. It was fun to see the things they have added.    When I see pretty flowers and plants at the zoo, I think hmmmmm. Houston is ONE hour from us, if they can grow it in the zoo, I can too.   I mean at home, not in a zoo.      I always like to see an animal grinning.   This leopard looked more like a stuffed animal than any animal I've seen...

Happy Birthday

Friday night we're at Sara's apartment for the *twin* birthday party. I remember when they were born. During hurricane Rita. I flew to Mississippi, the twins were born, James came to get me and enjoy the twins, but had to drive back to Freeport to get the girls because of the hurricane. What a week. On our way HOME from Mississippi, we met the hurricane coming through the area.... and it was all calm on the coast when we got home.     Cousin Jonathan. Always has a smile ready.      Ice cream cake. Not a good idea. In Freeport. In September.    Saturday was the Spa Party for Alisa. She turned six. I can remember when she was born. It was during hurricane Ike.   WOW   Why don't we all have babies during hurricane season?      This is what went on.....      I thought these were just pretty fun. T...

the day Hanna came over

Aunt Kimberly decided it would be fun to have Hannah for a day.  It was fun.  She got a Happy Meal and shared french fries with everybody.  Except Bunny.  She was careful to not drop any. . Aunt Nina danced with her for a bit.  She had quite a day.  She looked at Calvin and Hobbs books, rocked, played with a bus for 19 seconds, went to the church, took a nice nap, had macaroni for supper and animal cookies for a snack. She also drank water out of a t-rex kid cup. Yes, I let her write in books with a pencil.  It just seems like more fun than plain white paper. (Aunt Kimberly straightened her hair....I think it changed the way she acted.)

While visions of puff balls danced in her head.

Christmas Dresses

When I chose the pattern, I didn't know it would be SUCH a twirly dress. I meant to make them a little too big.... they turned out to fit just right.... which I guess is better than too little. Hannah's doesn't twirl... shhhh. She doesn't realize it. Hannah in black and white. What a blessing it is to have little Grand-daughters..... little Grand-daughters that have moms that love dresses...... fabric and patterns. I love to sew. What do you love to do?

Hannah....

Hannah

this kid would NOT stay still so I could take her picture.......... I did get this good one !! Hannah and the Bunny not to be confused with Bunny the dog, or the bunny out back in a new pen.

just a funny

I guess Alisa didn't think this was too funny.....

Alisa and the S.S. Room

On Sunday mornings I go into the girl classroom and prepare for the lesson.  I put things on the table, I get the colored pencils ready, I take things out of my bag, I pick out songs.....AND *jabber* with Alisa. She comes in, I give her the little calendar cards, she drops them on the floor, we sing, she picks up the cards, we jabber some more. I put her on the little chair just so she can feel what it will be like to be two. I can't wait for next Sunday. It is a sweet sweet little time we have together.
