Sheba in June

Sheba loves the rugs I make.  She is happy as a bug when she is asleep on one of them.  But she chews them up.  I put all of my rugs up....until she quits teething.  I have an old t-shirt by the cabinet she likes to sleep by.  There used to be a rug there........and I would tell her to get ON HER RUG so she could have some ice.  Today I told her to get on her rug and she wouldn't do it........of course not, she knew it was a t-shirt. I have a pink rag rug in our bedroom.  She LOVES to curl up on it even though it is very small.  She chews on it, too.  I slid that rug under our bed to *save* it from her.  I didn't think she saw me do it. Well, the other morning I came into the bedroom to tell my husband something and SOmeTHinG came out from underneath the bed and scared me good.........it was SHEBA.  She crawled under our bed so she could be on the rug.  Our bed is low....and she is high.  When she gets to be a big girl, I will make her a rug.

A Birthday Present

I knew I wanted to make somebunny a bag.  I knew I wanted to pick out new fabric, not use some I had on my shelves.  I went to Hobby Lobby.  I knew I didn't need very much, so I could choose something really fun.  I must have looked for 1/2 hour......going back and forth, well this, no----this.  Well, this.  Nahhh. So I chose this blue and magenta flowery print.  I have found that MOST of my time goes into choosing fabric......not in the actual sewing. Then I have to choose ric-rac.....then buttons.  It's a wonder anybunny ever gets a present from me.  I love to put colors together, I love to sew.....so it's worth every minute I spend.   Do you have trouble choosing colors? fabric? buttons? paint? nail polish?

What Can Wash Away My Sin?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.  OH! precious is the flow, that makes me white as snow! No other fount I know.......nothing but the blood of Jesus!

Around my gardens June 2012

Ice plant falling out of an old sink......... The dark pink zinnias remind me of a full dress with a can-can under it! My new garden art....a couple of mice. Munch Munch Munch Old pots I might need some day.  I threw all of my plastic ones away....ones like this only get better! I let this critter go......well, I gave it a place to get big drinks of water....and it got away.  Climbed right up a slippery pan and GOT AWAY.  I am too nice sometimes. Every once in a while, something curly happens to my flowers! We've had lots and lots of rain this summer, so things are growing and blooming like it was early Spring!

Just Desserts

So, Kimberly goes and buys a cupcake recipe book at the airport. She had a long layover.....so this is how she amused herself. I couldn't believe it. 500 Cupcakes by Fergal somebunny. It's not 500 actual recipes, there are variations you can choose from. She wants to make every one of them. I say, do the FENNEL ones, very last of all. A recipe gets chosen....she bakes them, then passes them out to family members for grading. Appearance and Taste First were the apple ones. They were kind of a breakfast muffin, not really a cupcake. Then came the strawberry ones.  My husband chose these. So far, but not very far, neither has been what we call a KEEPER. My choice is next......chocolate mud. The outside of course is chocolate, no frosting.... but there should be a very soft center..... that will ooze chocolate. I have never enjoyed cupcakes. I also do not enjoy sour candy, raspberries or tea. But I am a Happy Camper 98% o

Last Day at Sulphur Springs

This is the ric-rac I bought at Canton.  I figured while I had time, that I should go through all of it and make it nice.  I hate loose ends, and these all had plenty.  I love to add ric-rac to different things I make......just a nice little punch. So, I discovered that I had a rainbow of ric-rac.  Packages of fun.  Colorful ripples. This was Friday morning.  Such fun to go see what the lake and the sky looked like morning, noon, and night! I worked on cutting, tying, and rolling fabric, almost all day long.  I brought a huge bag full of fabric with  hopes that I would finish it.  I did.   My husband rolled and tied a few balls.....he let me win a race so I could choose where we ate that night.  I did NOT want to be camp cook, so we went into town.  Before we went into town, we drove around the park and listened to small town radio.  They were broadcasting their high school graduation and we got to listen to two graduates make a speech.  The first one, wh

Canton!

First Monday in Canton.... starts on a Thursday and ends on Sunday. I guess it all started with hogs and dogs. Trading and selling. How about a trade?  My faithful dog for your gun? poor dog These statues are in the entrance of the shopping paradise. We've heard about this place and have wanted to go for years. It finally worked out so we could. I asked for something decaff. All their decaff. drinks were plain Jane, so I ordered something else. Fire and Ice. I figured if I was going to have caffeine, I might as well enjoy it. I did. This is the only time we sat down all day.....we shopped from 9 till about 4:30. Adrenaline that help you shop is a dandy thing! The place was massive.  There were degrees of products. Inside the air conditioned part, things were fancy and rather pricey. The closer you got to outside, the warmer it got, and prices and items changed. A little less fluff. The more we walked, the more things became
