Colossians 3

We were told last night (4th night of revival services with Brother Hudson from Alvin)  that Colossians 3 covers just about everything we need to do....to be what we ought to be.   My favorite Bible chapter has always been Romans 12 for that very reason.     Present your bodies a living sacrifice....be not conformed to this world.....think soberly.....prefer one another....rejoice in hope....be patient in tribulation......rejoice with those that rejoice, weep with those that weep, mind not high things.....abhor that which is evil....recompense to no man evil for evil.....overcome evil with good.   This is a great list of things to do. Some people I have spoken to about the Bible get very defensive and say the Bible is NOT a book of lists.  It isn't a book of do's and don't's.  The Bible may not be written in list form, but you can surely make a nice list of things FROM the Bible.   Lists are good things and can do many things for us. They can help us pack

I LOVE this song...........

If We Never Meet Again Albert E. Brumley\\ Soon we'll come to the end of life's journey And perhaps never meet anymore 'til we gather in heaven's bright city Far away on that beautiful shore. If we never meet again this side of heaven As we struggle through this world and its strife There's another meeting place somewhere in heaven By the side of the river of life. Where the charming roses bloom forever And where separations come no more If we never meet again this side of heaven I will meet you on that beautiful shore. If we never meet again this side of heaven As we struggle through this world and its strife There's another meeting place somewhere in heaven By the side of the river of life.

Granny's Old House

This is my Granny's old house in Kansas.  I love this house.  Wish we could buy it.....I remember she had daisies underneath her clothesline.  She always had red jello and pork chops in the fridge.  She loved glass wot-nots.  She had a wooden case (with sliding glass doors) full of them and when she walked in the house they moved around....her house was on bricks and I guess it was kind of shaky.  As a young kid, I thought it was pretty neat.  She also never minded when we opened up those glass door and played with her pretties.  She had orange slices, Wrigley's gum, the round pink mints with x's on them in her candy dish.  I don't think Granny knew about cavities.  She LOVED it when we got into her candy dish.....I can still see it inside her cabinet door.  Even though we had full permission to do it, we were still in the kitchen and nobody could SEE us getting her candy! She had jewelery boxes full of costume jewelery.  Her drawers were full of scarves and fancy n

A challenge

It is your mission, tested and tried one, to walk out on the stage of this world and reveal to all earth and Heaven that the music is not in conditions, not in the things, not in the externals, but the music of life is in your own soul. If peace be in the heart, The wildest winter storm is full of solemn beauty, The midnight flash but shows the path of duty, Each living creature tells some new and joyous story, The very trees and stones all catch a ray of glory, If peace be in the heart. C.F. Richardson

Purple

These three purses belong to my daughters.  How they all ended up with the same color I'll never know......cimc One I did buy for myself, then gave it to Lydia. One I bought for Kim and I wish it were mine. One I actually had in my hands to buy, then decided against it, then Olivia ended up buying the exact purse later on. Honk if you love purses.

My stomach is growling. Yours may as well also.

do you ever............

Good Morning Thursday

I love to see different grasses in the different places we find ourselves. And to see dry grass in snow.......well, that's pretty neat to me. Hebrews 11:33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, (34)Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. (and we think we have been persecuted if there is a LONG line at McDonalds.......or if somebody looks at us wrong)

A trip to Colorado

We left Thursday night and got back the way next Saturday evening. If we would have stopped to take a picture every time we wanted to....we'd still be there I'm sure. I saw sooooo many little houses......poor little houses. The roofs were caved in, the walls were crooked, nobody home anymore. That's what was impossible to take pictures of. Maybe next time!! We listened to Louis L'Amour books read on cd.....cd's we haven't listened to for a long time and drank coffee on our way there and back. The weather was perfect the whole time. No rain on our picnic, snow came at a very welcomed time. The kids played off and on in it all day Thursday. When we were asked to go, it seemed so impossible and so far away. Now it is just a memory. And a good one.

Tuesday

There was always a little spot on the road to stop. There was always something to look at!! We watched some candy being made in a factory....it was just like Unwrapped and Modern Marvels! We ate some marshmallows coated in carmel....then went to Casa Bonita's for lunch/dinner.

Monday

A couple of my favorite shots....... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was on the 7 mile senic route. It was really 20 some miles going ONE way, UP, dirt/gravel road that causes scary dreams. On a mountain somewhere........

Thursday

This was taken on a Thursday morning walk. It was beautiful out! Kimberly? in a coat? Building a fire. Dangerously. Foreign objects. Coats. Winter Park Balcony From Thursday night to the next Wednesday evening, the weather was sunny~~~bright~~~warm. Wednesday evening it started to snow. It was perfect because we all planned to stay at the 'place' the next day anyway. We drank coffee, played games, started a fire and took walks in the snow.

our trip..............Wednesday

Wednesday we drove to Boulder.......on the way we stopped at Red Rock and took some pictures there. It was a nice drive and a beautiful day. This is the day we went to Celestial Tea factory. I will enjoy that tea even more than I did before!! Our family on the beautiful bridge....... Our Texas Friends on the Colorado Bridge! Bubbling stream.....small river? babbling brook? A park outside of Boulder.........out of nowhere, people came crashing through the woods on bicycles. It was a good idea to keep an eye out so you wouldn't be involved in an accident~~~~and the bike won. Wednesday Afternoon

You are what you eat...........

OK, I don't look like a carrot, or a piece of celery. I look more like a donut or a plump radish. We are what we eat. We just got back from a state where everybody wears hoodies and hiking boots. I didn't see anybody eating granola, but I bet they do. We can't hide this. Unless there are serious circumstances involved, we pretty much ARE what we digest. I can ponder all I want, I can wonder and try to figure it out and be in a quandry.......but I am what I eat. In this day of computers.......we are also what we blog. I came across a lovely blog the other day......you know how it happens. You go to a blog, then you click on another one...then another..... and you find yourself adding it to your favorites. That is the case with this blog: http://buttonwillowchronicles.typepad.com/ Every picture I looked at was whimsical and fun, every quote I read made me smile. It was a very enjoyable experience. Like a good book. A good book with very good pi

Texas,New Mexico,Colorado,Kansas...AND a FAVOR

This picture wasn't from our trip........but it was taken in Kansas. We got a new computer and there are still a few bugs to work out, so pictures will come soon. I hope. We had a wonderful time with our friends and it was good to see my parents and sister also. Home again Home again Jiggity Jig. Back to humidity. It was so humid today I didn't go outside. That is not like me. And here.....I was telling everybody I would rather have humidity than wind. Well, I think I said it when it was windy...... Since we got a new computer, I lost all of my favorites. I did save my pictures and some documents off of my desktop.......but I didn't save my favorites. If you are reading this, just leave a comment so I can COOKIE you into our new system.....and have your blog address where I can click in to it. I know that might sound lame to all of you computer savvy people out there....just humor me and leave a comment. One of these days I will be real smart, just lik
