I Resolute.....tomorrow.......

(if you can't read the picture.....click on it and it will enlarge)    This is why I don't really like New Year's Resolutions..... it's kind of like waiting to do things right. I'm just gonna do what I want for a couple of months or so, then on January 1st I'll straighten up. It won't usually happen. How serious can you be about the very important things if you are willing to wait a month, a week, or a day to get it right? When the Lord speaks to you about something in your life that needs attention, do you really think He wants you to wait until the   *NEW YEAR*   What happens if you should happen to know something needs to be changed in your life....say, in April? Shall we all wait until January 1 to make those changes?   There's nothing wrong with taking stock, examining our hearts, lives, actions.....having goals.... there's just something wrong with seeing a change that needs to be made,,,,,a...

2004

Ten years ago today, we had a white Christmas. It started snowing on Christmas Eve , and it was wonderful. A few of the kids stayed out in it for a really long time, in their pathetic *winter* coats. They wanted to enjoy every minute of it. It just kept snowing, and snowing, and snowing. Being from Kansas, I know that snow can be very different. It can come in a blizzard that stings your face at 30 m.p.h...... it can sort of just spit snow, it can come down kind of crumbly and dry, and it can come in huge flakes, all stuck together, that make snowballs. Snowball snow. That was the best kind of snow. That's the kind the   *Snow of 2004* was. The whole McEntire family was at PaPa and Granny's that year. There were piles of grandkids  running in and out all day. I'll never forget that Christmas.  And I'm sure we'll NEVER  have another one quite like it. For many reasons. Kids grow up, and it o...

Happy Day!!

I like to say it in more ways than one.   To all of my millions of readers, hope you have a:      I actually made pies......     TRUE

Memorial Day 2014....this was my day.

I got up around six this morning.  I did because I thought it would be a good idea to go check on Sheba.  To see if she got sick in her kennel again. She was fine, no mess.....so I made coffee and started the peach clobber. (It usually takes three people to help me get ingredients out the night before. Everybunny wants to eat it, but nobunny wants to help.) While the real pot of coffee is brewing, I make a cup of decaf in our little one cupper..... because I don't like to wait.   I checked the flowers in my *meadow*, and got some cosmos seeds. It was a beautiful little white flower....I always try to save the specially colored flower seeds. Anybunny can have a pink cosmos....      The Peach Clobber turned out. Sometimes it doesn't. I use the same ingredients, the same pan, the same spoons and everything every time. Maybe it's my attitude?   The big people got to pour half & half on t...

Pre-Mother's Day Fun

8:00 was pretty early for Kim, but she got up and we left for Pearland.  I don't know how many times we've said that we wanted to go there on a special day or occasion.  LOTS.  Well, today we went. First we had to put on perfume.  My new Mother's Day perfume. :) 3 kinds of Chole'.  By Coty.  If you haven't smelled it or loved it yet, look for some! It was rainy and drippy, but it wasn't stormy.  Nice morning for a drive to Pearland. Coffee at Buc-ees. Yes. First stop, Bass Pro Shop.  I drove right to it.  Didn't have to turn around once.  My dear husband gave me his gift card he got from a gun purchase so I could get myself a pink Daisy BB gun. Then we went shopping..........Target, Claire's (where they have awfully big clips.....)....then to eat. I took pictures of the wall while we were waiting for somebody to realize we were there.  I won't share the story of how long we waited.........becaus...
