TIMBERRRRRRRRR

(this particular tree branch stayed here for quite a while, this is where the chain saw gave out) When we moved here, the enclosed area by the bathroom windows was solid grass. Well, I fixed that. I have planted, pulled, dug, raked, picked, bricked, decorated, unbricked, drug, seeded and watered this area for years and years, and it just mainly did what it wanted. This was what it wanted: airplane plant, ice plant, sorry charlie (weed-ground cover), shamrocks, fern, shrimp plant and hardy iris bulbs that hardly ever bloomed. I've had three trees come up on their own in this section too. One was a mulberry tree. I trimmed that tree often.......one switch at a time. Then came an ash tree. It came up and grew really tall in just a few years. It dropped sooty mold on all of my flowers (?ha), so we cut it down. Then this tree grew. I kind of like it at first, then came to not like it at all. It has little yellow fuzzy things that drop yellow everywhere, then it would dr

Baptism and Salvation

So, you ask somebody if they're saved and on their way to heaven. Sometimes their answer will be "Yes", I've been baptized. Sometimes their answer will be......"YES! I've been saved by the grace of God and I'm sure of my standing before Him." Sometimes their answer will be "I hope so." Sometimes their answer will be "Yes, I've been saved and baptised." hmmm, what do you do with this last answer? How do you reply to somebody that says they think you have to be saved AND baptized to make it to heaven???? Well, I talked to a man not long ago about this very thing and I didn't do so well. Hopefully this will help you if you meet up with somebody like this........and hopefully it will help you if you think baptism has a saving quality. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the r

7:00 a.m.

This is what my morning looked like. The posts to follow are pictures of the rest of the day. I did two loads of clothes and hung them on the line.......I can't believe I didn't get any pictures.

morning

I of course fixed some coffee. This is an old tape that was a gift from somebody a long time ago. The tape player goes right with it. Not too modern, but quite effective. I made a double batch of banana bread. I added chocolate chips to some of them.

morning-ish

I am calling this the Month Of Henbit. It is my favorite wildflower/weed. I am pressing lots in this poem book. I didn't take this poem book when we fled because of hurricane IKE, but I will take it next time. Especially now, because it will be full of pressed Henbit. I had Kimberly take our footstool apart. It is real easy to cover. It's just a wooden box with some cushion on the top, and very old. I read for a little bit. This is the best book.

afternoon

I went to my favorite thrift store. I got some orange fabric, ric-rac and a jacket for Lydia. I got these seeds for 13cents a packet.........8/$1.00.........I got three dollars worth. This brand almost always grows really well for me. I'm not one to buy expensive seeds. It got real close to being real warm today. Fixing up the salad.

outside

January blooms........ The garden was glowing today! I love this time of year. On our way to Kansas we stopped at Starbuck's. They had old grounds to use for mulch and we had room for them in the car, so I got a bag. I haven't stirred them into my mulch pile yet. The leaves in the gray pan are cottonwood leaves from my dad and mom's yard.

supper

Kimberly and I had a fun time fixing all of this up. She did the tomato. I did all the cutting up of everything else, she chose the bowls and put saran wrap on them. I always want to have salads and just do not do it. I forgot to make boiled eggs. That was the only thing that was missing.

Good night.........

I do the evening dishes. It was just a bunch of salad bowls. I cleaned my table. I got a cranberry limeade pineapple drink from Sonic. Good Night.

Jolly

Jolly is much too dignified to play like this anymore. I'm glad we have pictures from when she was a spry kitten.

two little things

A little purple flower. A little ladybug. And gloves. These were the BEST garden gloves. I wish I could find more. I wish I could just find where I put THESE.

Proverbs 11:20

Proverbs 11:20 They that are of a froward heart are an abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight. (adhering to rectitude; righteous, honest, or just: an upright person)

brave leaves.........

These leaves could possibly stay on the tree until new ones come out in Spring.

A perfect snack........

Some friends gave me this 'sauce'. When I first tasted it, it did not taste good to me. It was tart and just not very good. THEN I put some on my pork rinds. It is a perfect snack. Thanks. You know who you are.
