Some Questions

Have you ever seen this book?  I read it to the kids when they were young and wore the front cover right off of it.  If you see one, buy it, it's well worth it.  It is FUN to read. Do you know what these are?  If you do, tell me what you think..... Now, I know what's in the jar, but I don't know for sure what this is.  It doesn't appear to be a bread pan...or a HUGE ice cube tray.  Have you seen one before? Have you ever played this game?  Muggins?  We got it at a home-school book fair.  You roll dice....add, subtract, multiply or divide to try to mark numbers around the board for points.  I usually lose, but it's still fun. Do you like rabbits in sweaters? Or old dishes?  Maybe these came from the Trail Cafe in Great Bend, Kansas.  I love old kitchens.....I've just read a book about bungalow kitchens....and how they used *furniture* for cabinets and storage.  Nothing was nailed to the wall as we know it today.  I like this kind of look...

Turn Your Heart Towards Home

Late in the evening When everyone was sleeping The father of a wayward son Slipped out in the night And looked towards the city And wiped away his tears And Prayed his son could hear his father's cry Chorus: Turn your heart towards home Turn your heart towards home You've been gone so long Turn your heart towards home But not only the sons are wayward ones There are mothers and fathers Who have said their goodbyes And the sad eyes of children Looking through their tears Pray their mom and daddy could hear their cries There are those who have never walked away from home But in their hearts they're so many miles away And the Father in heaven is the only one who knows And if you'd listen you could hear Him say: End: You've been gone so long Please don't wait too long Turn your heart towards home

Iris, a nurse, overhears this song in a sick-room.... 1859

O LOVE Divine, that stooped to share Our sharpest pang, Our bitterest tear, On Thee we cast each earth-born care, We smile at pain while.... Thou art near! Though long the weary way we tread, And sorrow crown each lingering year, No path we shun, no darkness dread, Our hearts still whispering, Thou art near! When drooping pleasure turns to grief, And trembling faith is changed to fear, The murmuring wind, The quivering leaf, Shall softly tell us, Thou art near! On Thee we fling our burdening woe, O Love Divine, forever dear, Content to suffer while we know, Living and dying, Thou art near!

A GOOD SONG

DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS? Do you know how it feels to know something missing And hear a still small voice that you just keep dismissing Do you know how it feels to be troubled inside, to think just for you on the cross someone died. Do you know how it feels when he knocks to surrender, How your sins washed away, never to be remembered, And know that’s its real, tell me do you know how it feels. (Chorus) Then how does it feel to know you’re a child of the king Your heavenly father owns everything, how does it feel To know you are loved, by the one who created the stars up above How does it feel , to know your alright, when you lay your head on your pillow each night And know that its real, aint it good to know how it feels Do you know how it feels, when your cold heart has melted And tears start flowing, the moment you felt it Do you know how it feels, to know you’ve been changed And it seems that the hold world has been rearranged Do you know how it feels, where

1 Corinthians 9:27

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. Gilligan made it look like a *fun* thing to be a castaway. The world makes it look like a *bad* thing to be in subjection.

"I must go down to the sea today, The lonely sea and the sky. I left my vest and socks there, And I wonder if they're dry."

New Curtains...? New Coffee Pot....?

Well, at one time, all of this stuff was new. It's new to *me*  right now. I parked my $1 Coffee Pot on top of the Rabbit Hutch. But now you can't tell that it's a Rabbit Hutch. I sewed curtains from 2 old dresser scarves, one Holly Hobby pillowcase and and old kitchen towel. I needed two little nails from Lake Hardware..... out of their nail bin, so they just gave them to me. I'll always remember that. Some places would have weighed them and charged tax. I got some neat aluminum cups, too. They're the kind my Granny had. To the left is an old vaporizer. When I bought it, it still had Vicks? in the lid.

Fun Seeds

I got these from Lowe's the day we bought the hall-way paint. I hope I didn't plant them too late. Once April days are upon us, it can be pretty warm. I *LOVE* zinnias. I would name a little girl Zinnia and Violet. Maybe rabbits........... I usually have some sort of giant sunflowers growing somewhere in the yard. These will be fun because each one should be different. I had mounds of nasturtiums in January, but they froze. I love how they trail and mound up and crawl around the garden. Maybe these will grow and I will have them in May instead of March. What do *YOU* like to plant and see grow?

helpful things

I found a new use for my doilies. My eggs used to roll around until they got into the skillet. Now they don't. They are nested safely on the doily.... waiting waiting waiting. no more rolling rolling rolling Love Mrs. Mobunny

so I can remember

I sometimes check out craft books from the library, look at them, find summpin neat to do, then take the book back to the library, and promptly forget about it. I'm going to take pictures of the things I'd like to do some day, then everytime I get on Picasa to look at pictures, I will be reminded. I'm going to try to not forget some of these things. You never know when you'll get a plain lampshade..... or need curtains with large button holes at the top that will fit over the glass door knobs you've been collecting. What makes *you* get crafty? Do you have your things in a box waiting for a slow or rainy day? Do you buy books so you can have them for ideas? Do you use the library? do you google: ric-rac? sock crafts? sewing for dummies? I like scrappy crafts. I think this would be neat to have. I don't wear much jewelery and I don't *have* to bring it with me when I go somewhere..... but if I do, I like it to be secure.

CLOTHESLINE 101

Just about anybody can have a clothesline. You need a little patch of a yard and a little sunshine. Wind is nice, but it's not necessary. It is humid here a lot, so timing has to be just right. I can put things out in the morning, but I must get them in around 2 when the sun is shining hard. If I get the clothes off the too late, they get wet again. There can be a few dark and dreary days here where NOTHING dries, no matter how I time things. Those days are not fun for me, but like everything else, they pass. We all know every day cannot be sunny. I love to be outside hanging up clothes. Putting things in and out of a dryer isn't HALF the fun. It's no wonder some women don't enJOY doing laundry. Get some square wooden poles.... and some eye-hooks..... and some white clothesline rope. Sink the pole in a hole filled with that cement mixture you buy at Home Depot. My lines are in the shape of a triangle.... and my sweet husband put up a low line for when the gir

YAY ..............go COFFEE

It has beautiful innards. It just shines and shines. one dollar I can have 60 friends over for coffee, or 30 two cuppers, or 15 people that bring their super size mugs, or 5 friends with nothing to do but drink coffee with me all day.

tale of two cats

The top pictures are of Jolly. She's our kitty. The bottom picture is a picture of a cat at a yard sale. The sale where I bought my lovely coffee pot. This is a male and he looked SO much like Jolly. I asked if I could take his picture. He was HUGE. Had the same coloring..... and his owners said he yelled when he was hungry. Always starving. Just like Jolly.

East and West

It's the largest thing I've ever made. This picture shows it going North and South..... Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to hang the silly thing in the patio sized door-way.  So far, I have an old flag-pole and two hooks. I still need to cut all the strings and iron it. I *did* offset the pieces on purpose. Some are just more offset than others.
