Neat, huh?

This was taken at a Mississippi rest stop. Is this so the people of the state won't sit on the ground, or for the people driving through that might not know what a bench is for? Or did they paint them a year ago and forget to remove the cones? Or is it so the park staff won't run into the benches when they drive around on the grass? Or is it for people to not BUMP into the benches while they're walking? Or what?

If turtles could sing, what song would they sing?

that I don't like about the ocean........the wind and the salty water on my hands............ Am I going to let that stop me from enjoying everything else? The sand, the sun, the fresh air, the birds, the sounds, going to Buc-ees on the way out or coming home, time with my girls, taking a walk, warm sea water on my ankles, the smell of sun-tan lotion, bottled water, pictures just waiting to be taken? We've lived here for a LONG time and I have been to the 'beach' once. We've driven down there and taken people from Kansas to see the water, but other than that, we haven't enjoyed what is really close to us........it takes less than 10 minutes to get to the water from our house if we don't stop at Buc-ees. It's a good place for us girls to have fun and I hope to start taking advantage.

This was a tie. Both pictures got 28 points. James did first photo, Olivia's is the second one. I judge by focus, lighting, subject, composition, impact, uniqueness. I also have to have my mind cleared of likes and dislikes which is very hard for me because I am very opinionated. I also have to avoid snap judging. This is also very hard for me................ We have the next two assignments picked out. Keep watching.......when they both are ready, they will be posted, it isn't necessarily once a week. Feel free to vote on your favorite, but you must state your reason.

We were checking out a state park we might some day be interested in going to, and this was a residence inside the park. This guy was out puttering around....he had old wash-tubs hanging from this little roof off of this little building. See the screen door? I think he just stuck it up there. I think he would have been fun to talk to...........but we went by too fassssssssssssssssssst.

I would choose a house like this in a skinny minute over a new one. What a Pollyanna day we would have moving into this one!

It might not actually be the Blue Water Highway,,,,,,,,but that's what I call it. This is on the way to Galveston. Used to be a long time ago, you would drive from our place to Galveston and there were just a few beach towns on the way........now the highway is filled with houses like these. They're fun to look at and dream about, but we know that one of these days, these houses will all crumble.

It POURED here this morning and lightning knocked out our phone and internet almost all day long. Lydia was glad for the rain so she wouldn't have to water my tomato plants.

Heather made this at our house on Monday. You can't really see it, but it isn't your runofthemill grahm cracker crust. It's the kind with walnuts in it. This was YUMMY.

Mother's Day Casserole, Pico, Fried Hominy, Zippy Beans and Rice..................and 'that cake'.

No wait, this wasn't JUST a cake..........every piece had 800 calories. At least the necklace wasn't fattening.

So, we have here a beginner's cookbook. I gave $5 for it at Dollar General. Nope, not a very fancy place! Some of the chapters are about nutrition, some are about soups, eggs, the pantry and preserving. It looks like a normal cookbook, but I'm going to turn it into something else. I got this book for Lydia for school next year. Lydia is 10. I want her to be a haPPy HaPpY HoUseWifE so that's what we're going to do in school, learn to BE one! As I looked through this book I saw lots of potential. She will hopefully learn more than just how to make a crepe or use a citrus reemer. In this book I saw ART. I turn to page 32 and see a strainer......she can draw that. On page 75 are quail, goose and coll duck eggs. I think it would be nice for her to draw them also, and color them..........while learning about eggs........and uses for strainers. In this book I saw SPELLING. Turn to page 145 and list 4 different kinds of game........pheasant, grouse, rabbit and

This fabric was almost THREE dollars a yard!!!!!!!!! I looked at it almost every time I went to Wal-Mart but never felt that I had the money for it. I picked it out to wear at Caleb's wedding, but James took me to Hobby Lobby instead. I finally got some, and made a beautimous jumper out of it. I think I'll wear it on Mother's Day to church.

Lydia fixed my pins for me.............what do you use for a pin cushion? And don't tell me you don't have a pin cushion.............
