pumpkin?

I've been a Baptist for a long time. I know why I'm a Baptist. I've been to lots of Baptist churches. I even make pumpkin bread. If somebody can tell me what in the world this sign means, I would appreciate it. It's one of the craziest things I've ever seen. (It's on the way to Mississippi.) Is this a place for Pumpkins that are Baptists? or a place for Baptists that are pumpkins? (click on the picture so you can read the sign) (and if there ARE Baptist Pumpkins, would you know it if you saw one?)

yesterday and today

we got a new toaster.....our old one was white and was too big.......we just got a two holer this time we also got a new blender, this one will be for sweet things we do have another blender but it is for hot sauce we don't want a cilantro smoothie or banana salsa a drawer full of cat This cabinet is going to be HUGE. It is to take place of the orange eating table,,,,,,,now it will be the new eating table. The overhang is to use as a bar, the cabinets will be for a thousand things.

kristi........

KLK, it's this pan I was talking about. Do you remember this one? Boiled gizzards and gravy?

Be scared........

be very scared. (we'll get the tape, don't worry)

Kitchen Pretties part 1

This pig is from my Grandma F. I don't really care for cookie jars. Can you believe it? So, we will just put do-nuts in it. This is going to be the tea table. I don't like tea, either. But I like tea 'things'. This is one of my most favorite pictures. The artist is Patricia Hillman . The little cookie cutter beside the picture is from The Lydia Rose. The store is no longer open. That's sad, because the family finally got to go to Fredericksburg ........and there was a jewelery store there instead. Olivia put the pretty clock up on the shelf......then I found a perfect rabbit, I put some flowers in her basket. These are my pretty little glass cups I got a long time ago. I think they're at home on this shelf. Does it look like Christmas out the window?

Thursday Pretties part 2

This is a very special chicken. I got her from the gift shop at Mount Vernon I went to Mount Vernon when I was in high school, then one more time, then one more time. I just go to the gift store now......instead of the tour.

just days passing by

this one has a few flecks of purple.....it's my favorite I am even going to have a 'popcorn' cabinet.

doors

I painted and painted the other day. It was glorious fun. PaPa was over one time and said........hmmmmmmm.....that will probably just be able to be a really small cabinet space. I tried to contain myself........it is something I always wanted in a kitchen........a little bitty space JUST for cookie sheets and pizza pans. OH YAY. And there is even a little drawer above it! And yes, I do have lots of plates. It's called my collection of plates. And yes, when company comes, nobody has the same kind of plate. UNLESS the girls insist on using the glass/ceramic stuff we have. We have three nice sets, one that is white with blue flowers, that is for Sunday. James got me a set that is white with roses and a little bit of gold.......then I think my sister? gave us a set of plain white with gold on the rims. That's all fine and dandy, but I like my other plates best.

collection

I love old 'melmac?' plates some of them are called TexasWare They're hard to find, most plates are glass. Every once in a while, I will come across a neat one.......... I love all colors and sizes and patterns. The solid yellow in the back is the same as some my Grandma F. had. Hers were orange. I LOVE my Autumn plates.......... This is the set we had when I was a little girl. We had glasses that matched them and two sizes of solid purple bowls. I sure wish I had some of the bowls. I remember I always put my potatoes on the flowers!

Good Morning!

I am going to put a few things up in cabinets today.........some food and the plates/bowls/cups. Things are moving along.........in the Gulf, also. We're watching a disturbance? to see where it will head. The three girls and I will be getting groceries today, we're not taking ANY babies with us this time. 7 is way too many. And yes, the check was in the mail. We have been waiting on a check for a LONG time, and it got here yesterday. It was the check, to reimburse us, for paying for repairs, because somebody sold us a car, without an inspection sticker. It's all settled now, and are we glad. I just might call Herb today at Millenium and tell him we GOT the check, instead of calling him and asking him where IS the check. OK, here it is, I told myself if we did get the check that I would recommend the dealership we got Olivia's red Volvo from: Millennium Audi, it's North of Saturn. http://www.millenniumaudiofhouston.com/ In Houston. Go there, but be sure to se

our orange eating table

This still kind of stings. We will really miss that table. We had ordered a green piece of formica to cover the new table.......well, we get to Lowe's on Saturday and they inform us that what we special ordered and PAID for, was no longer available. So, we had to pick out another color formica. I was sooooooooooooooooooo sick that morning, I didn't even care what we got.........so we got what the other cabinet tops have........Crayon. I did go glance at the other choices, but they were swimming and I couldn't concentrate.......so I figured we couldn't go wrong with something that actually matched what we had. I took some prescription medicine Friday night for a headache, and I had some strange side effects........one of them being a headache. Go figure. So Saturday morning at Lowe's was not what it usually is. The ride out there wasn't either. James stopped at McDonalds and told me he would be glad to buy me one of those waffle sandwiches if it would ma

more deco

I forgot about these aprons..........I think they will look nice on the shelves. These were my Aunt Sharon's aprons. My mom kept them for me when they were going through her stuff. It doesn't look like they've ever been worn, and I don't remember Aunt Sharon wearing aprons.......but they were still hers.
