I have a little song that I sing with my Sunday School class of girls.
Happy birthday to you
Everybody needs two
How many have YOU?
Happy birthday to you.
Today is my birthday. My physical birth, birthday.
I also have a spiritual birthday. It's March 16th.
March 16th is the day I was born again.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
One birthday is not enough. If you do not have a spiritual birthday, you will not see heaven. Having a physical birth.....puts you in great need of the spiritual.
The world may seem to be divided by race, nationality, money, degrees, fame or position, but the real division is this: you are lost or you are saved. You are a goat or a sheep. You know the Lord or you do not. You have been forgiven of your sins or you have not. There are no in betweens.
The Christian life is not a journey, becoming one does not take years and years. The Lord likened the spiritual birth to the physical. It is a one time occurrence...........and you are surely going to know it.
If you're not sure where you stand before the Lord..........chances are............you have not been born again. It does not happen accidentally. If you are counting on things you have done in the past and things you plan to do in the future, you surely are not saved.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Works cause us to boast. Church attendance, baptism, feeding the poor, singing in the choir..............paying our taxes.
Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Salvation is a gift, not something we work for. How would we ever know if we had worked enough? Could we ever be the judge of that here on earth?
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
If you are reading my words, then you have had the physical birth.
That means you need the spiritual birth. If you have not taken care of this heart matter that will decide your eternity, don't wait. Don't put it off. You have no promise of tomorrow.
Anything you read on my blog, any pictures you see, any place I should happen to go........will NOT matter in eternity.
Those things are fun, but they are temporary.
Please consider the eternal.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Happy birthday to you
