Mini Vacation

We left a little early so we could go to Bass Pro Shop.  Somehow, Kimberly had never been to one.  I don't know how that happened.

They sell some really neat things in that store.  I looked at these and remembered back a LONG time ago when I ate these quite often.  I meant to buy a couple of them and totally forgot.

We ate at Grand Lux Cafe.  Cheesecake Factory and Grand Lux are kind of the same thing.  We'll have to go to Cheesecake Factory real soon so I can compare......

It was quite a meal............James and Kimberly shared a dessert.  I shared mine with Lydia.  I always want to share with her.  She didn't take ONE bite.  She was too full. NOTE TO SELF, share dessert with Lydia........

It was mine.  All mine.

We went to the A.D. Players to see Emma.  Lydia had never been to a play before....this one was a good one!

This is Kimberly in the room yodeling.  She practices at weird times.

This is Lydia on Saturday morning.  She had to sleep on the couch cushions on the floor.  She's OK now.

We still haven't had ONE piece of pie from this place.  This is where we like to eat breakfast.  It's a diner like place stuck in the early 80's.

Central Market.  We bought jam, root beer, coffee beans, biscotti, trail mix, fancy cheese, fresh blueberries, licorice mints and a bagel.  So ended our Mini-Vacation.

I like going along on your mini vacation. Sleeping on couch cushions isn't so bad. I did that during a hurricane once. I decided the safest place in my house was right in front of my stove. So the couch cushions were placed there and that's where I stayed all night. I was safe.. haha

The last hurricane that blew through our area didn't disturb our little plastic play house in the back yard. we could have stayed in it instead of driving all the way to East Texas!!

I can sympathize with Lydia. I had to sleep on the floor on a regular vacation. But, at least I wasn't alone. My cousin had to, too. It was actually quite comfortable. Too bad the floor in my bedroom isn't like that, otherwise, we could save a lot of money on beds. :D

I love mini vacations, don't you? I would definitely share my dessert with Lydia, too. And kids usually love sleeping on weird things... makes for great memories! :o)

When I go to Bass Pro Shops I look at the candy too. It's the best part.

My Favorite Child

I wish I had all the pictures I wanted, to go with this blog post........because I know a *picture paints a thousand words*, but for a large part of our family's life, old fashion cameras and old fashion pictures were being used.  So, many of the pictures that would help paint this post are somewhere in boxes and books.  It would take a month of Sundays to find them all so  I will just have to count on your imagination and my memory! FAVORITE: most liked, preferred above all others Sara, you were my favorite.  You were our first baby and we were so excited for you.  Your hair was perfect for me to learn how to braid and you always were very still for me.  You were the first little girl I got to dress up and put lacy socks on.  You were such a fun little girl to read to.  You memorized the books we had and it was a big part of our day to read with each other.  *where is the bear when the wind blows cold?*.    You have always been interested in the *family tree*, dates, p
