Simple Thing

This is a simple little thing my husband did today. He used a broken brick to help him throw the lightweight rope over a tree limb. It helped him chunk it right where he needed it. Just a little thing. Nothing spectacular. Nothing loud like a freight train or Niagra Falls.

Think of how many times your mouth has gotten you into trouble. How many times have you said things you shouldn't have.How many times you hurt people with your words?I have a piece of paper with a cow on it.....hanging in our dining room.It says, "Everything does not need to be said."And it doesn't.
Everything does not need to be said.
My mom has a little plaque in her porch.
It says, "Lord, help me today to keep my big mouth shut."
This might come to mind.....
The Lord gave us two ears and ONE mouth.
Use accordingly.
And how could we ever forget Thumper's mom?
If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Here's what the Bible says...........
Proverbs 13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Proverbs 21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue, keepeth his soul from troubles.

Proverbs 17:27 He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.

James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Ecc. 12:11 The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
In this world of cell phones, twitter, Facebook, texting, e-mail, blogs, forums, commenting, boards, chat, private messages, overnight delivery! we should apply the same principles. Even though we are letting our fingers do the walking.....it is still
~~~~~~~YOU, ME, US~~~~~~~
YOUR WORDS
MY WORDS
OUR WORDS
Even though we may not be using our MOUTH
we should still use the same manners as if we were.
We should never think that just because we are not actually SAYING the words
that whatever we
e-mail
post in a blog
say in a forum
comment on
share on a board we belong to
chat about
OH>this is private
tweet
TEXT
say on Facebook
or have delivered overnight.......
doesn't matter........
it matters very much.
So, the next time you are tempted to say something ,less than lovely, in any way shape or form,
with your fingers or your mouth,
think twice.
It's really a simple thing.
How many matches does it take to burn down a forest?
I think the bible also says something about the virtuous woman like, "and in her tongue is the law of kindness."
